2021 DD Uconnect 5C 10.1" System Issues/Glitches (Share your experiences)

I figured I would start this thread to see what issues people are running into. I'm sure many of these will be worked out quickly but wanted to see is others are having the same issues I am.

1) Yesterday, my screen became completely unresponsive. It would not acknowledge any screen touches. This went on for 5 minutes and continued after a reboot of the system. Eventually it just started working on its own again. It started when my apple car play started up.

2) Performance pages are glitchy. They seem to crash when I select the certain performance page I want to view. Without fail, the G Force page crashes and reverts to the home page every time I click on it.

3) I am unable to add more than one profile. I called Uconnect and they said an update will be pushed out soon to add up to 5 profiles. Is everyone having this issue?

4) Screen not dimming when headlights are on while using apple carplay. It seems like its on full bright even when headlights are on only when on the car play screen.

I like the idea of a class action suit. We purchased a new 2021 Durango R/T and shortly thereafter a UCONNECT warning service message appeared. Not just once but multiple times on EACH trip. Very annoying. We let the dealer work on it several times. We rented substitute vehicles while they worked on it. Now say it was a known problem and an update would be forth coming. I've sent certified letters to dealership and Dodge advising them we consider this a safety issue and also selling a vehicle to us with a KNOWN problem is not right. Also, if we want to trade out of Dodge, then someone is going to ding us for the cost of a defective system

I said a lot of bad words to them on the phone, I hope they are not “brave” enough to start giving me pop ups on my already broken radio. 😂


My Durango is in for the medium heat setting plus other issues as well. I had a good talk with the service writer so let's see what happens
I go in again on Saturday morning. Wheel speed sensor flaking (FYI you get an ABS light and it’s raining just pull over and restart the vehicle). I spun all 4 tires going like 30mph and I can only imagine how bad braking hard would have been. 😬 fortunately the issue went away after it was turned off and back on again but this is the 2nd time now. 😞

Got a new pixel 7 hoping that would solve the wireless android auto connection and it did not. Constant drops Perhaps it's because I'm still on .89 since the usb update in May... Still hasn't updated to .98. might just go get the 3rd party aawireless, as this thing is a joke.

Also, I've noticed the medium heat seat hasn't been working as well!

Aa wireless has been pretty solid on .99, and my pixel 7, and fold4

It's possible that any DD with front heated seats in "21 and '22 had the 3 level option since you have the switch setting, but the modules they used were all 2 setting modules.

Last night when I pulled into the garage I got a “Low Bat” banner that popped up on the bottom of the screen but then it went away. I tried to search but nothing is coming up. Now I don’t know if the error is real or not (because this Uconnect 5 system sucks) and I don’t know if it was a meaning the car battery, the fob battery or some other battery I don’t know about. 😞 🤦

This is new.

Used my key to unlock the Durango. Seat position automatically changed to match my profile. Got in, started it, UConnect remained at my wife’s profile (typical), and eventually switched to the profile selection screen (also typical, and representative of the ridiculously bad QA process - clearly NOBODY involved with this system has ever actually used it. There’s no situation where defaulting to this screen makes any sense.) Drove next door, shut the truck off, got out.

10 minutes later, got in, started it, and my profile automatically selected (typical that it happens after the second start with the different key). But this time, it dumped me to the settings screen.

That’s never happened before. Usually, it leaves me to the equally-useless-but-slightly-more-relevant profile selection screen.

How is it not illegal to knowingly sell something that’s broken, especially as it relates to vehicle controls?

I am pretty sure I posted a TSB or two concerning the Uconnect Box error.
One was to check for loose/disconnected wiring and the other was to flash the unit.
I am sure they are in this thread somewhere so please look as I do not have them on my PC any longer.

My uconnect error fixed, a loose C5 connector. Just an fyi for those with that error message. I just thought I wasn’t getting an over the air update…

Maybe you just need to get a UC5 radio out of a wrecked SRT - if that will fix the problem.

I realize that's what you're hoping for but I have never seen anyone mention anything about the original firmware for UC5.

With the UC5 system there are no use-able files in like the UC4 system.
Everything is in the 2 payload.bin files which you need to mount or burn as an ISO and then read the ISO. I did that and there is nothing useful which makes sense since Dodge is so damn secretive, so much so Uconnect was not told their app is deprecated in favor of the Dodge app. Downgrade to .89 and go from there.
