I like the idea of a class action suit. We purchased a new 2021 Durango R/T and shortly thereafter a UCONNECT warning service message appeared. Not just once but multiple times on EACH trip. Very annoying. We let the dealer work on it several times. We rented substitute vehicles while they worked on it. Now say it was a known problem and an update would be forth coming. I've sent certified letters to dealership and Dodge advising them we consider this a safety issue and also selling a vehicle to us with a KNOWN problem is not right. Also, if we want to trade out of Dodge, then someone is going to ding us for the cost of a defective system

Now instead of telling me there is a Sirius XM free promotion ending 12/5, it is telling me to call an 800 number for a special offer! Every. Time. I. Start. It.

I said a lot of bad words to them on the phone, I hope they are not “brave” enough to start giving me pop ups on my already broken radio. 😂

I go in again on Saturday morning. Wheel speed sensor flaking (FYI you get an ABS light and it’s raining just pull over and restart the vehicle). I spun all 4 tires going like 30mph and I can only imagine how bad braking hard would have been. 😬 fortunately the issue went away after it was turned off and back on again but this is the 2nd time now. 😞

My volume just stopped working today for some reason on my 2022 DD. I turned it on and off several times to no avail. Any quick fix suggestions?

 

My first step is always hold down the power button until it restarts. If that doesn't work then I just do it again. I think some others on here have had the no volume thing. Maybe one of them have a tip that can help.

 

Got a new pixel 7 hoping that would solve the wireless android auto connection and it did not. Constant drops Perhaps it's because I'm still on .89 since the usb update in May... Still hasn't updated to .98. might just go get the 3rd party aawireless, as this thing is a joke.

Also, I've noticed the medium heat seat hasn't been working as well!

Aa wireless has been pretty solid on .99, and my pixel 7, and fold4

 

It's possible that any DD with front heated seats in "21 and '22 had the 3 level option since you have the switch setting, but the modules they used were all 2 setting modules.

 

My rear window switches on the drivers door have the second detent like they are one touch close or open like the fronts....

 

I believe this was posted before but for new people just seeing this.. this has dates when versions of Uconnect were supposed to be pushed out. If you’re not on R17.99 at this point I would reach out to DodgeCares and let them know. It’s been over a year since this software released.

 

A full year later and still broken.

@DodgeCares : Do I even bother bringing this thing to the dealer since it's on the latest release?

 

Still getting this one several times a day. I’ve been to the dealership a dozen times at least and they can’t do anything about it and it will be “fixed in an upcoming update” which doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon.

 

I read somewhere that ANY codes stored in the system (maybe the entire car?) can cause this. Seems just stupid enough to be true. It might be worth doing a code scan to see what is floating around in there. Maybe stop by AutoZone or O'reillys or similar. They all offer free scans I think.

today's glitch was the radio asking me what Sirius package I wanted to order lol...so did the soft reboot and back to normal

 

Last night when I pulled into the garage I got a “Low Bat” banner that popped up on the bottom of the screen but then it went away. I tried to search but nothing is coming up. Now I don’t know if the error is real or not (because this Uconnect 5 system sucks) and I don’t know if it was a meaning the car battery, the fob battery or some other battery I don’t know about. 😞 🤦

 

HaHa I'm sure If that warning was in a Mercedes/Bentley/Rolls It was referring to your Sig others sex toy or your pacemaker....

 

Amazing how fd up the uconnect 5 is. What a shtshow.

 

I am pretty sure I got a warning on the UC5 screen for my Samsung Battery which was like 3 percent when I got into the car.

 

Thank you it does seem likely that it could be related to the phone. I just wish the alert wasn’t ambiguous so I wouldn’t have to guess.

 

This is new.

Used my key to unlock the Durango. Seat position automatically changed to match my profile. Got in, started it, UConnect remained at my wife’s profile (typical), and eventually switched to the profile selection screen (also typical, and representative of the ridiculously bad QA process - clearly NOBODY involved with this system has ever actually used it. There’s no situation where defaulting to this screen makes any sense.) Drove next door, shut the truck off, got out.

10 minutes later, got in, started it, and my profile automatically selected (typical that it happens after the second start with the different key). But this time, it dumped me to the settings screen.

That’s never happened before. Usually, it leaves me to the equally-useless-but-slightly-more-relevant profile selection screen.

How is it not illegal to knowingly sell something that’s broken, especially as it relates to vehicle controls?

 

I am pretty sure I posted a TSB or two concerning the Uconnect Box error.
One was to check for loose/disconnected wiring and the other was to flash the unit.
I am sure they are in this thread somewhere so please look as I do not have them on my PC any longer.

 

I have 2 TSBs that were covered by my dealership with no fix.. was curious if these guys found something new. I will take a look though to see if the TSBs you posted match what they gave me. 🍻

 

My uconnect error fixed, a loose C5 connector. Just an fyi for those with that error message. I just thought I wasn’t getting an over the air update…

Unfortunately no… the only update they ever sent out on thumb drive was R17.89 and I don’t think there is any other version available to download that I’ve seen.

 

Maybe you just need to get a UC5 radio out of a wrecked SRT - if that will fix the problem.

 

was going to try the firmware first since to find the dash won't be easy and probably cheaper to try the firmware in case it doesn't fix my problem.

 

I realize that's what you're hoping for but I have never seen anyone mention anything about the original firmware for UC5.

 

yea I know and only 3 people on this forum or any other forums have the similar issue I have...

 

And have any of them been able to solve it? I haven't seen that here yet.

I spoke to Dodge last night and they specifically mentioned a TBM firmware is coming to fix the Uconnect error message. They still can’t provide an ETA but it seems that is a different release than the Uconnect 5 firmware.

 

thanks guys I didn't realize the usb had the same version as the one that it came with. I actually opened every file inside the usb and was looking if there wads a file that would say cluster or something but still no luck.

 

With the UC5 system there are no use-able files in like the UC4 system.
Everything is in the 2 payload.bin files which you need to mount or burn as an ISO and then read the ISO. I did that and there is nothing useful which makes sense since Dodge is so damn secretive, so much so Uconnect was not told their app is deprecated in favor of the Dodge app. Downgrade to .89 and go from there.

 

what a headache....

 

Shouldn't have tuned it.
