I figured I would start this thread to see what issues people are running into. I'm sure many of these will be worked out quickly but wanted to see is others are having the same issues I am.

1) Yesterday, my screen became completely unresponsive. It would not acknowledge any screen touches. This went on for 5 minutes and continued after a reboot of the system. Eventually it just started working on its own again. It started when my apple car play started up.

2) Performance pages are glitchy. They seem to crash when I select the certain performance page I want to view. Without fail, the G Force page crashes and reverts to the home page every time I click on it.

3) I am unable to add more than one profile. I called Uconnect and they said an update will be pushed out soon to add up to 5 profiles. Is everyone having this issue?

4) Screen not dimming when headlights are on while using apple carplay. It seems like its on full bright even when headlights are on only when on the car play screen.

I purchased a new 2022 Durango R/T Plus on Sept. 30. Build number FCA-MY21-R 17.98-PROD. When I drove it home the traffic flow and weather was not working. After two days it started hooking up showing traffic and weather and has worked every day since then when I start the vehicle. Everything else within the system works perfectly as well. Maybe I am one of the lucky ones.

I've gotten that notice probably 5 times since I've owned my 2021. A couple times, it's persisted beyond cycling the ignition. But I've had luck just long pressing the power/volume button. That doesn't seem to reset the unit like it usually does, but somehow clears the failure and the Uconnect5 just starts working again. Really a strange thing.

TSB
Release Date: September 2022
Symptom/Vehicle Issue: Uconnect Box Error Message On Radio Screen And Diagnostic Trouble
Code (DTC) code B22A9-96 Set
Discussion: The customer may report “Uconnect Box requires service” error popup on radio screen
every time the vehicle starts. wiTECH shows active DTC B22A9-96 (ECU internal performance) set
by Telematics Box Module 2, (TBM2).
Engineering is looking into this code and is looking for error code details in the TBM2 data if code is
set active. Please add a scan report and this DTC data to the Repair Order (R/O) information. If a
Star case is opened, please provide the data in the Star case. Here is the procedure:
Please use wiTECH tool to check the TBM2 data.
Select TBM2 module -> Data tab -> ECU internal fails screen and record the value of:
Modem – fail, Yes / No
SIM module – fail, Yes / No
GNSS/Modem receiver – fail, Yes / No
Wi-Fi module – fail, Yes / No
Accelerometer E60 – fail, Yes / No
Log the name and “value” (yes/no) of those items to R/O and/or the STAR case.
If all the ECU internal fails values are set to fail, communication between vehicle controller and
modem is not working. Please check the harness connections and reset the TBM to recover.
If one of the ECU internal fails value is sent to fail, it indicates a component failure. Check harness
connections and update TBM2 software if any available.

Diagnosis / Repair:
1. Check the TBM2 software version and update the TBM2 if service software is available.
2. Verify if Uconnect box error message disappeared and DTC went stored.
3. If the issue continues, pull out the TBM2 module fuse.
4. Disconnect all TBM2 harness connectors.
5. Disconnect all related in-line harness connections (if equipped).
6. Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
7. Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for
connector improper installation, connector lock damage, corrosion, water intrusion, bent
terminals, overheating or terminal discolored, terminals pushed out.
Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
8. Repair any conditions that are found.
9. Reconnect all TBM2 harness connectors and in-line harness connectors and related
component harness connectors. Be certain that all harness connectors are fully seated, and
the connector locks are fully engaged.
10. Plug in the TBM fuse.
11. Perform Proxi and TBM2 hard reset.
12. Erase the DTCs and perform wiTech scan again.
13. Replace the TBM2 module, if B22A9-96 DTC is still active.

New issue. It used to do this when I would go in certain areas where maybe there was microwave antennas or things like that where the Bluetooth with kind of black out for a little bit and then come back in. Usually, if I would switch to a different screen and then switch back to CarPlay it would come back up with the correct screen showing Apple CarPlay. Yesterday it stayed black from the time I got in the car until the end of the day. Today I did a factory reset and after the climate finally got back to normal after I restarted the car a couple of times the CarPlay is still on black background with nothing showing. I guess another inquiry to get a star service order started to see if this can be corrected before my warranty is out of date because I’m coming up on 36,000 miles here.

Yeah this has been an issue for me since the beginning. I have several areas in town where CarPlay cuts out completely and the screen goes black. It’s almost like the WiFi in the Durango is overwhelmed/being walked on and can’t communicate to the phone anymore. I don’t think they will fix this issue sadly.

I just had this same issue with Android Auto. My Samsung updated the other day and the screen was black when I got into my Durango.
I uninstalled AA and reinstalled it with the same issue. I finally found that the default AA app was empty in the AA settings of my phone. I added a default app (waze) for AA to use when it connects and since then everything is working fine.

@Vice-White yeah, I finally got the right order to factory reset the UConnect as well as restart my iPhone and the screen came back to life. As we all know that these things are frustrating and different glitches keep popping up, and it doesn’t drive hope for a “forever” fix. Buy a premium product with wal-mart quality appliances.

@S8ER01Z I agree. There are definitely several areas where either microwave antennas are placed as well as high tension power lines where it is predictable that my Bluetooth connected phone will glitch sound, the screen will turn black and my Bluetooth connection is lost. A good portion of the time it will reconnect by simply restarting the HU, but other times the HU seems to get thrown for a loop, only to recover overnight. It’ll play the radio, and if I connect my phone by USB it will play the music on my phone, and even allow calls to come in. However, if I ask Siri to text someone, both the HU and the phone revert to before ask Siri and not allow it to happen unless I disconnect my phone. Even talk to text will be rejected at these times. Frustrating and distracting especially while driving.

Not really, Walmart would give you your money back, no questions asked. Their customer service is way better than Stellantis' customer service. Maybe Walmart should build vehicles!

So....was driving to the hardware store the other day and noticed that a street, that was constructed back in 2020, was not showing up on my navigation map. Started digging into the Uconnect OTA TomTom map updates and found the following video produced by Uconnect. At 1:04 in the video, at the bottom, it states that the TomTom OTA updates are not available on the MY21 Durango. My software build in my Durango is FCA-MY21-R 17.98-PROD. What a bunch of crap. FCA makes such a big deal about the Uconnect 5 services and TomTom map updates and then they don't make it available with this software build? Very misleading promotion and advertising on the part of FCA. They should be held accountable to provide this service if they advertise it and promote it.

Started the truck yesterday with my key in pocket. Seat moved to my position, UConnect display eventually switched to the main profile switched screen (WHY?!? What clown decided this was necessary?), yet the profile remained set to my wife’s. Got out, shook my head locked it, walked away.

Couple of hours later, unlocked it again with my key, started it, and it still remained on my wife’s profile.

Seriously, Dodge. How is it possible to sell something so broken, in such high quantities, yet after 18 MONTHS still not be able to make it work as advertised?

Yeah at some point I remember the fob profiles working but on 17.99 now and I can’t even find the option anymore. I have to switch the profile manually every time I get in now.

My “easy exit” and seat profiles stopped working 😂 🤣

Edit: found an old post on the forums here that said
  • disable easy exit
  • move the seat all the way forward
  • move the seat all the way back
  • enable easy exit.

Shockingly that worked.
I found that saving settings while driving can cause the issue.
Happened to me and I did the reset and it has been fine since but I have not tried to save settings when the Durango is in gear. LOL

“Key fob not in vehicle” again today when in park and someone opened a door while the engine was running.

This is probably the fourth time that’s happened under the same conditions (different doors though).

Guess the PMU they replaced recently to fix the AC didn’t help.

Wonder if the dome light LEDs are making RF interference in the same frequencies as the keyfob. I had a similar issue with my garage door openers when I put LED bulbs in the opener.

That, or the power sag from the dome lights coming on is enough to squirrel the radios involved with the key fobs. But I can’t imagine they draw all that much.

I bought a 2021 Dodge Durango R/T about a month ago from a Dodge dealer. This message started popping up like a week after I took it home. Nothing else seems to be glitching or affected. I tried to sit by my Wi-Fi and see if anything would download OTA. Waiting for update. Next time I take it in I will give them a copy of the TSB and have them look at it.

I have that popping up every few minutes now. Dealer said there was an update coming and DodgeCares replied to a thread on here stating the same thing. Should get fixed whenever the update happens.

Hello everyone, so I haven't read thru all the posts but, can someone beat this one? I went to the dealer for a battery issue. They first asked me if I had a tune since the system accused one, I said no but anyway isn't the pcm locked? yea but people find a way, im like the pcm IN THE CAR has no tune but if it did what does this have to do with the battery? well nothing, so ok then, I guess you trying to mention this for the warranty claim i'm about to put in? Anyway it was a ground wire issue, and since you here we had a recall for your car so we installed the latest Uconnect software, i'm like I did that already I got the usb key in the mail, well it didn't take it I guess, i'm like ok then. Anyway I get in my car and nothing is the same all reset I guess? Well little I know that they installed the r/t update and now im missing stuff on my dash, called and gone for the day! I guess tomorrow is going to be interesting. SRT with the R/T cluster....

Dodge is a freaking Joke. They have delaers who accuse owners of tampering with the PCM and then upload the wrong update? Who is in charge at Dodge because I really want to know if they think their dealer network is anything but poor.

#2,006 ·
And if I did something to the pcm? So what? they didn't even know what's wrong with the car and they worried about my warranty...? They promoting the Direct Connection performance parts anyway so they know what people do what they got to do.
Anyway, so they were too busy today to "fix it" I need an appointment. Really? Ok, then I'm coming tomorrow and you fix it while I wait, i'm not leaving my car there, especially since you fucked up and if I have an appointment, that should mean something! I work in a restaurant and 6:30 reservation doesn't mean 7, 8, 9 or 10 pm right? Fucking hate this, I actually know people there and I hate to bother people for something this stupid but the job should be done anyway the right way. Also oh yea it was a ground wire issue, no sorry we fucked up nothing. Certain shit happens do to poor quality control or especially because people don't care, there's no more respect, no more pride in their work, nothing, WORLD IS GOING TO SHIT!
