2021 DD Uconnect 5C 10.1" System Issues/Glitches (Share your experiences)

I figured I would start this thread to see what issues people are running into. I'm sure many of these will be worked out quickly but wanted to see is others are having the same issues I am.

1) Yesterday, my screen became completely unresponsive. It would not acknowledge any screen touches. This went on for 5 minutes and continued after a reboot of the system. Eventually it just started working on its own again. It started when my apple car play started up.

2) Performance pages are glitchy. They seem to crash when I select the certain performance page I want to view. Without fail, the G Force page crashes and reverts to the home page every time I click on it.

3) I am unable to add more than one profile. I called Uconnect and they said an update will be pushed out soon to add up to 5 profiles. Is everyone having this issue?

4) Screen not dimming when headlights are on while using apple carplay. It seems like its on full bright even when headlights are on only when on the car play screen.

2014 Citadel with Tech Package (have owned since 2016)

Overall Uconnect has been 8/10. Mine is older so no features like carplay. Most of the time it's really nice. Every once in a while it mixes up stereo presets and seat presets. When this happens we have to wait a little while + restart the car. Then everything is back to the way it should be.

On long trips we used to call Dodge fron the car + have them enable Wifi for a month. Not sure if this is still supported. Not a but deal we can share wifi from our phones if needed.

As others have stated previously Dodge Durango is just an awesome looking car + with AWD + a V8 it's an amazing performer as well.

After getting a “UConnect box requires service” message, I did a factory reset. Then took a road trip.

As before, multiple wireless CarPlay dropouts, the first starting after maybe 1.5 hours of continuous use, followed by others after 30isb minutes.

It’s almost like it tolerates errors up to a point, then gives up, trying again, then gives up again.

Know the feeling.

Wonder what Ms. Palmer and Mr. Galante think of their product.

FYI that error was a mandatory telematics module replacement for me. There is an update available for jeep but not dodge vehicles apparently. I get mine replaced this week so I might finally be done with WiFi and Uconnect errors.

And now a message from my wife that she started the truck, and the screen stayed black. Shut it off, started it again, still black.

Seriously?!?

@DodgeCares: what’s the latest? It’s been over a year with this nonsense.
Just picked up my 22 tonight. Get home have supper go out after command start hop in and press start screen doesn't light up, tried getting out locking, leaving it for a bit then without command start nothing. Press the power button and after a few seconds it lights up. Not sure if this is a setting somewhere or not. See if it's doing it in the am if so back to the dealership urgh

I just called Sirius Guardian and like others, gave them some crap about how bad the system has been.
Uconnect app broken 1st 4 months,
Weather working for a total of 4 months in the year
Send and Go never worked
Vehicle health report broken from 2nd month on.

I got a 6 month promotion for the full service for $60 ($10/mo)
With a smile I said, this is your last chance otherwise I will not renew. :mad:
The associate who sounded like I woke her up was, Oh OK no problem. :ROFLMAO:
So if you renew, push for the 6 month promo! (y)

You are in the right place. I suspect your Durango was built in 2020 as there are a few others that have FCA-MY21.R14B.61-PROD and their Durangos were also built in 2020.
Mine was built January 2021 and had the 17.xxx version which I then went to 17.89 to get OTA updates and a week or so later it went to 17.99 whereis sits now.

Nope it was built April 2021. From the date I gave the deposit and the dealer placed the order. It was exactly two weeks to drop off. The dealer called and we were both shocked. I immediately thought what is wrong with it. I did a careful inspection and found a few things. But the biggest issue was I found a ripple in the paint that actually was all the way in the metal.

That set off about 5 months of trips to the dealer to get it fixed (painting 3 panels}, new damage from this work, calls to Dodge and SRT. I was not happy being our first factory ordered vehicle. Knowing what I know now I would have refused the vehicle.

I too received my 21 DD RT in April of 2021 and I have this exact system as well and debating on updating it. No recalls shown, never received anything in the mail and I've called and they said nothing is shown for my vehicle as well. System works alright for the most part but I do only have 1 profile, and once in a while weather doesn't work, I use android auto sometimes, doesn't seem to be a problem... I'm debating if I want to do the update or not... Anyone update and they are happy with it??

all of a sudden, 2 days ago data started reporting to the uconnect app (meaning the tire pressure, oil life pages etc). very happy to see that working. I did the .89 update about a month ago. not sure if it did another update to the newest one .99 or whatever it's on, I'll check when I have time but at least the data is reporting and seems to be updating very often, as it does in my scat pack.

This system definitely has Issues to say the least,
One of the reasons I just traded in my 2017 DDGT was because of the sunset of the 3g systems on it
I now have a 21 DDR/T only to find this malfunctioning system ..
So two Days ago on my way to work the screen froze and a VERY loud buzzing noise was playing through the speakers.
After about five minutes the entire system shut down and rebooted.. I was on the expressway at the time so pulling over was not much of an option..
this is crazy What the f$%$^ is dodge doing ??

Well, for me… knowing how much folks use tech in cars now to navigate, interface car features, having these insane failures pushed onto customers like this tells me they don’t care about the customer experience so much. I don’t have faith this will get solved to be honest. At the end of the day, they will be losing good paying customers who generally like their offerings (like me) for new vehicle purchases.

Sharing my experience, I'm sure the same thing is posted somewhere in the past 1,762 posts!

We just bought our 21 RT used from a family we knew. We had heard they were looking to get rid of it after owning it for only 6 months. I asked them why they were getting rid of it so soon? They literally only had one complaint... "The screen doesn't come on some times and my wife doesn't like that". We bought it anyway.

The very first thing I did was factory reset the UConnect system and check for updates. It's been 2 weeks and we haven't had any issues with the UConnect system... until it decided to get cold again and my wife started to use the remote start in the morning.

Nearly every time we've used the remote start and let it run for more than 5 minutes, the screen is black upon entering the vehicle and does not turn on no matter how long we wait.

We've had success in getting it to come on by turning off the vehicle, getting out, locking it and waiting for all lights to turn off inside and out, including the gauge cluster. Then unlock the vehicle and use the push button start on the dash.

I hope to see some resolution in the near future for the many issues reported here and I hope that Dodge extends support to owner's who's warranty may have ran out.

On a related topic how many of you are going to pay to keep your U Connet features once the trial period runs out? I see on 2021, 2022's it is now down to 6 months. it was one year when we bought our 2019 Charger Hellcat. I was hoping I could find a "bundle deal" for two cars but nothing out there.

My 21 I got a 1 year trial. I bitched on renewal and got 6 months for 60 bucks. So far Health Report is broken everywhere so in 6 months they either give me another discount or I do not renew. Android Auto smokes the built in Uconnect voice recogntion which is sub par to any Mopar I have owned before.

So I've taken my Durango to the dealership for the safety recall and mentioned that my unit is still on version 14 and not part of the Y25. Prior to this, I've been messaging Stellantis on Twitter and they gave me This:

. I gave that to my dealer so fingers crossed they proceed with the update now, otherwise Stellantis said they will escalate

You have to get to 17.89 before you can get an OTA update. The unit needs to be updated manually via a USB drive.
If you want the file(s) it is in this thread somewhere. Just go ahead and do it understanding the odds are pretty low that anything bad will happen but it could happen. Even if the radio bricks, it is warranty work.
Good news is no one on this forum has reported bricking their unit. Process is easy but for a few minutes, it looks like it is doing nothing but it is. Mine took 18 minutes to complete and 10 days or so later I got the OTA update 17.99
