3. Smoothed graphics
4. Audio playing Sirius and USB is a bit tighter which is good
5. Weather Map is still useless
6. Android Auto works fine
7. VR is still not as good as the 8.4 systems but is a hair better with this new firmware.
8. Performance pages were not fixed (low HP showing and wrong TQ showing)
9. I am hoping OTA updated will now happen.
10. Tom Tom map updates not available when they should be.
11. Favorite Song or Artist pop up is partially fixed. Normal font size with a slim title bar showing for the favorite song and the Sirius Logo. If you click OK you hear a chime and you go to the channel/song. For the favorite Artist there is a large pop up, font is corrected but no chime when you tap OK. The Chimes are issing or mistimed. You should hear a chime as an alert to the pop up but that does not happen.

That is all I have for now but I am sure as I use the unit I will run into other bugs that are hopefully fixed.

 

So far, I rate the upgrade a C-. Simple things like pop box sizes, missing chimes and TOM TOM maps cannot be updated because it cannot connect to the server. This may be due to it needing to connect to wifi which I have not setup yet. Also, Song/artist favorite pop up while on the bluetooth or android auto phone call is again part of why Dodge rates a C-! There is nothing else I will be able to find that would move me to increase the C- to anything better.
Piss poor shit show this Uconnect system is. Ralph Giles bragging about this system is a joke!

 

Don't get me wrong, you need this update but in all reality it took almost a year and it is still partly broken.

I don't want anyone to think I am rating the system a C-, I am rating the firmware update a C-. For the system itself with the firmware update I give the unit a firm "B"
The tweak to the audio system has made it much more enjoyable. The results to my ears is tight bass (got rid of the weird boomy mushy bass) and clean highs no longer muddle in with the mids.

 

Had a conversation with FCA Canada. This campaign is only for the US, so us Canadians are out of luck at the moment. So stupid!

I didn’t think i was eligible for anything, seeing as I was a late August build. However, I got pushed a new update as I was pulling in my driveway tonight. No idea on what’s different yet. SXM didn’t work right away. I had to do a reset to get it to lol.

 

That is the update all us earlier build guys need to have done. Our existing software version cannot do the OTA updates...

 

I was thinking about the campaign number also. The latest are at around Y79(got this for my Grand Cherokee L the other day). I went looking around the interweb and found out that Y-24 was issues on May 11, 2021, and Y-26 was issued on Jun2 2,2021. So this means that they have had this ready to list since late May..... Wonder what the hold-up was?????

 

So my buddy had the update done. Dealer used a USB stick, and it took 15 mins. Why the fck can't dodge just send us USB sticks? Or at least allow a download. This is seriously stupid.

@kdogdillon how are you feeling about the update tot he 10.1 system?

 

I already deleted my second profile and will only have one profile for my wife. It takes absurdly long to switch profiles... Otherwise its fine...

Theoretically after this update, OTA will work and we will be able to get fixes more frequently... one might even expect a similar schedule to the JGC's... but given the way things have gone so far, I'm not expecting much out of Dodge. Even after all this time they still have amazingly stupid design flaws and bugs in this build. A speed alarm which can't be set to anything other than 3 mph? Seriously.

 

OH I ALMOST FORGOT - Is anybody getting full screen popup ads to sign up with Siriux/XM??? I just got one the other day as a freakin' modal dialog. I had to hit the red X button to make it go away. It literally covered my entire screen including Android Auto showing Waze. This came from the Uconnect5 head unit OS, not Android Auto. Grrrrr.

13. Profile switching is slow. 37 seconds
14. Android Auto - Phone's text message notification sound no longer plays through the system but the ringtone plays on incoming calls
15. Uconnect text notification now works and it has a pop up and the system reads the contacts name or number that sent you the text.
16. Uconnect text notification popup issue. If you tap reply before the message is finished (verbal) the message stops and the pop up goes away. If you wait to listen to the whole message, the millisecond it is done playing, the pop up goes away leaving no way to reply.

That is all I have for now but I am sure as I use the unit I will run into other bugs that are hopefully fixed.
I have downgraded the update to a D+. The reason is for the terrible QC on the programming along with breaking other features that used to work.

 

This system is fucked.

 

Their QC is F'd without a doubt. BUT here are some good points of the update.

1. Sirius plays songs from the start when switching stations.. Thanks goodness because that feature is awesome and I had it for 5 years in my Ram. Sucked when it was broken in the Durango.
2. Profiles are now available and even with the 37 seconds it takes to switch them, it is still a great feature.
3. The Audio has really improved on the Alpine system. More definition in the mids, chimey highs and tight bass, no more bass drone or muddy bass.
4. OTA updates now possible

 

It clearly isn't the hardware. It's the programmers and testers. Honestly, I put it more on the testers... if there are any.

 

I can tell you that the Human Factors expert from Carnegie Mellon University must have gotten his/her degree from a box of cracker jacks.

 

Anyone know if there's a way to link both seat presets to the same profile? Its automatically making a second profile for the number 2 seat preset. Really annoying. I always wanted multiple users and now its the most annoying thing ever!!

 

Yes, go into the profile settings and you can set which seating settings work with that particular profile.

 

It seems the latest OTA update started on 11/19/2021 and is a phased rollout
The OTA is done over 4G cellular and not wifi.

Maybe I am an idiot...but when I bring up the weather app and go into Maps, can we blow up the image to see details?
