New behavior!

Now it doesn’t seem to want to switch profiles automatically anymore. Just drove it three times with my key, and it remained set to my wife’s profile (though the gauge cluster said “Memory 2 recall” or whatever the verbiage is).

It did, miraculously, automatically connect to my phone via wireless CarPlay, so I’ve got that going for me.

Goes in to the dealer on Friday.
 
I’m sure it’s been touched on here but is anyone else having issues with CarPlay on R17.99 dropping out in specific areas? I have a couple of intersections/locations where CarPlay will 100% stop functioning every single time I am in that specific area and then it starts working again as soon as I’m no longer near the area.
My phone functions fine (tested as passenger) but the connection to CarPlay just dies (interference?). I’ve tried moving my phone around in various places but nothing seems to help. Anyone else?

  • Music cuts in and out then just stops
  • CarPlay Screen goes black on the radio (switching to other screens seem to work fine)
  • Occasionally I’ll have to force a reboot to get the connection back, usually though it just recovers on its own.

Anyone have issues with Valet Mode?

  • prompts for PIN code but then fails to enter Valet mode after trying for several minutes to enable Valet mode.
  • once in Valet mode it won’t exit no matter how many times you enter the password. It will fail repeatedly until it finally gets stuck in a mode where everything looks normal but the dash says Valet (confirmed it’s in valet by trying to accelerate). The radio no longer prompts to exit valet in this state and you’re effectively stuck.
  • stuck in valet mode it won’t let you try to switch back to valet mode (similar to the initial issue) only it thinks it’s in valet mode already so it doesn’t even try.

What version of Uconnect software are you at? i ask because there is a TSB:

I thought I mentioned it in my post sorry about that. I am on R17.99 and I do have an open case with Uconnect but no updates from them yet.

That is the only TSB on the issue. Did you dicsonnect your battery cable to get out of valet mode?

I messed around for about 45 minutes the first time (no tools and I was out of town) and discovered a way to get a pop up to cancel valet mode but I can’t trigger it easily so it’s not something I’ve been able to reproduce. Had to disconnect the battery 2 other times and now I’m just not taking it anywhere with valet until this gets sorted out. 😞

Dont worry cause I am pretty sure the 2023 HCs will not have an improved/working correctly Uconnect system.

So... I know I'm supposed to have 'Speed Alert, Boundary Alert, Curfew Alert'... I'm not sure if I even want to use them but for the life of me I'm not finding where I can access / set the parameters for these. I'd expect them to be icons on the main screen from the phone app below but I cannot see how in the world to access these features....

Is this new?! I never knew about it! Thank you. Just setup a bunch of alerts.
Cool.... Yep, don't know how new it is, just stumbled across them in some research before buying my DD this year and couldn't find the settings until today. :LOL:
 
Well, got the Durango back from the dealer, who did… wait for it…

A software update and factory reset.

Software version is exactly the same as what it had when I took it in (.99).

I was understandably shocked when there was no improvement.

Already followed-up with the case manager, who’d told me that the dealer advised them that it was working as designed. Which is interesting, because they’d need both key fobs and a pair of iPhones to confirm at least one of the issues, and I only gave them one keyfob.
 
Not looking good. It's one of the three TSBs.
Once from last year, one from early this year and one from last month.
A TBM software enhancement for “Uconnect box requires service” improvement will be
tentatively late 3rd quarter 2022.


this is interesting.. I wonder if we are going to get another Uconnect update this year or if this is just specific to the TBM.
