No ,not all. It is an option with or without as with rear center console.

Most dealers probably get the buckets because they assume that folks wanting the RT want the "sportier" captain chairs with the center console. If I remember right, the bench is standard and the buckets are the paid upgrade, the center console may also be another paid option on top of the seats. I could be wrong though.

You are correct on all counts. When I ordered mine I had to tick a box for the captain's chairs and also for the console.

Captains chairs are the sportier, premium look. I guess dealers figure the Limiteds/Citadels/SXTs are more likely family haulers so they order them with the bench.

They are out there. That was the one thing that I had to have and there were none that were acceptable in the Atl metro. So, my dealer located it and transported if from Miami.

Could you fit two car seats side by side, and still have enough room to get in the back seat? I know the bench seat is 60/40, so having them on the 60% side!! Would their be enough room for the car seats?

This, I have a similar question. Anyone know if you can put a car seat in the center position and have two adults sit comfortably, one on each outer position by door with bench? I haven't been able to find a bench of any model variant at a dealer to look at to see. All have the captains chairs.

The issue I have seen with bench in other SUVs. Is the center position doesn't have the lower anchor points for the care seat. I suppose you could hook to outer seat anchors the inner anchors. But the problem becomes you can't fold the 40 seat to get to rear seats when needed.

I would rather not have to have an adult sit in third row. Which is why we are looking for input on second row bench on the Durango. But if the adults are cramped and no center anchor points it makes the captains chairs a little more bearable I guess.

A middle bench is a must-have for me. Sadly it does seem most R/Ts sitting on dealer lots have the captains chairs, making a factory order a necessity for me.

Some other brands like Honda and Toyota don't even give you the option of a bench seat in their high trim lines, taking their vehicles completely out of the running for me.

I would say 2 car seats side by side would be a no unless they are smaller car seats.

! car seat and a booster possible 2 boosters would be even better but two full sized car seats would be tough.
