So honest question, was it worth $500 in performance?
I bit the bullet thinking its the last one. I ordered from Steve White and he told me they are no longer available. $500 bucks worth.. probably not. Its the markup that makes it expensive. I'm happy with the strut tower brace for my subaru though hah. under 200 bucks... shipped via EMS from japan. Wished i could pay 200 bucks for a decent strut tower brace.

This topic has been great. Definitely made it easy to find the stuff I was looking for. I want to do the mud flaps and the dodge ones only appear to be fronts, so I'll go with the husky.

I had picked up one of the last Arringtons and was told they were built in small batches at a time. So if Arrington isn't available check with Steve White Motors in NC as they are a distributorship. That's why I Bit The Bullit and got one while I could. They should be available now or soon.
Steve Whites EBay store shows none available at present. All 10 sold. Maybe more on the way but not specified. Personally I'd like to see a bit more effort into making the connection to the struts a bit mor finished/attractive. Theirs look a bit like a shop project from school, at least for $500. I really like the look of some others for Mopar cars, which seem to be cast/billet instead of welded flat steel. Just my opinion, since this is ultimately party purchased as engine bay eye candy.

Just FYI, I ordered a full set of oem splash guards off amazon and these are the part numbers 82212022AB (rear) & 82212021AB (front) and the link for them is below. I think I did well at $70 for all four. I went with the oem because it seemed like they didn't hang as low as the husky, but who knows.

Yeah, I wonder if they have lost interest? I emailed them and asked for this. I told them there was a lot of discussion on the forums about a lack of a vendor for this. Everyone interested in a Strut Tower Brace for your Gen 3 DD, go to BLACK OPS Auto Works, hit the "contact us" tab and let them know please.
Well, I emailed Black Ops using "Contact Us" tab on their website almost a week ago about this and have heard absolutely nothing. Not sure why the apparent lack of interest in making a product that a fair number of people would likely purchase. Guess we will just have to wait and see if anything develops in the market.

Straight from Chat at Black Ops...

"Trying and the problem we are having is making this affordable for all.

We are going to go ahead and make it out of all Aluminum and price it period!

We are at the point where this project has gone way over and we just need to move on. I can say without a doubt if it's all aluminum it will break the 500.00 mark!

We just can't make the original rendering as cost is too high!

The cheaper alternative is stamped and welded plates altho it will work it looks like crap!!! We opt to make em really nice with a higher Price tag VS really cheap with a cheap look!

On a side note
Their has been a lot of discussion of dropping this!!
I said I would bring this to market and that's what I'm gonna do!! I'm the only one out of my team (Since profits at even a higher price tag is not worth doing them at all) that does not want this dropped so this is the only option I am left with at this point! I'm gonna get em done and should have one on a Truck soon with pics."

I wonder if Billet Tech would be interested in giving this a go

as great a company as billet tech is. A functional Strut tower brace takes a lot of engineering to get right. Billet tech makes some solid looking items, but not sure if they have the engineering to get this done? i was hoping maybe forum sponsor speedlogix would give it a go, since it seems to be right up their alley.

I would like to point out my severe disappointment in the original poster in this thread. He's going to cost me quite a bit...!!!!

Great links and information...thank you!

The way I look at it, is that the more I get others to "invest" in their D's, the less crazy I look for all the completely unnecessary sh*t that I added to my D.

Like Thornton Melon once said, "So take it from me, if you want to look thin, you hang out with fat people"

Is it worth getting the Diablo tuner for a V6?

In addition to whatever performance gains you get, and the ability to upload custom tunes, and datalog for emailing custom tunes.....it's also a code reader. That becomes extremely helpful if the vehicle experiences trouble codes since you can read them, diagnose and possibly fix the problem, and then clear the code all without going to your local (expensive) dealership. If it's a big enough problem that you need to go to the dealership, you can take it in and say "I'm having problem X and I've tripped DTC PXXXX". Or you can take your D in and say "Somthin' ain't runnin' right. Kin y'all fix it?"

Better order a backup....

There are several threads talking about Fumoto oil drain valves. I'll toss a picture of one in action. This is the orientation for the 3.6L V6. Ran the DD up on ramps, slid on a a short piece of tubing, and all 6 quarts went right into the jug. Too easy! (I felt too clean afterwards!) Thanks for the tips on this one guys.

BTW, I just leave a short 1/2" piece of tubing on the valve just so road debris doesn't prematurely pit/wear the nipple O.D.

Just traded my 13' Ram in on a 15' Durango R/T Blacktop. Wife wanted more of a family ride, but I still needed my Hemi. Looking to add some mods to improve performance and sound, this is an incredible list, thank you. Which CAI is preferred the Mopar or the K&N? Also looking to add an exhaust, I had a Flowmaster on my Ram and loved the sound at idle and under acceleration but hated the drone. Any suggestions? Where should I start? Thanks for welcoming me.

I use the MOPAR CAI but some prefer the Volant as well, both are great intakes
Corsa Exhaust is the best sound with minimal to no Drone, They claim no drone but there is a bit

update on the strut tower brace. After an extensive online search, it appears the Arrington brace is still our only option. I am beginning to wonder if Arrington only made a limited run, as the eBay vendor has now sold all 10 he had available, and has not relisted more. I watched the "1 available" icon on his ad just a couple of days too long. I'll bet someone here on this or another Durango forum grabbed it, despite the high price. Anyway, I went to Arrington's online store, ShopHEMI.com, and they don't list it for sale either! Are they truly all gone? Somebody with the tools and tech savvy should spend some time making one of these for our trucks and advertise on the forums. I'll bet they could get a group order of 20-30 pretty easily right off the bat if the price was right. Just sayin'...
Hi everyone! I am new to the site and my 2011 Durango Heat! I'm gonna miss my Jeep but I couldn't be happier with the Heat. I copied the post above because, the first thing I do when I get a vehicle, is see what is or isn't available. I came across this strut tower brace and my first thought was, its stupid expensive and doesn't look very effective. I am a Design Engineer for a liquid propane injection fuel system company and design everything from the steel fuel tanks to the aluminum fuel rails. So, before even seeing this post, I told myself I will be designing and making my own. Now that I see how others are interested, I am absolutely diving into this. Who can complain about some quality car time and helping out others with the same interest? My current plan is to make a cost effective part and then a more involved part if the demand is there. I think I will create another post and get feedback on what every is really looking for such as style, contact points, structure, ect. I will be spending some time with the DD taking measurements in the next day or two and then it will be on to modeling up my ideas. Sorry for the long first post! Looking forward to sharing experiences with the community here!
