Was down to Ripp Superchargers today so that they could check out the spacing inside the engine bay, and it appears that it will be a very easy conversion to get the kit they will be releasing for the WK2 Grand Cherokee to fit inside the Durango. Very excited! They will be calling me in about 2 weeks to bring my Durango in for work. Hoping to see the dyno charts of the wk2 jeep they have the prototype in already.

I got to talking with my wife the other day--since the DD and the JGC share the same basic underpinnings, what all would be involved in swapping the tranny and t-case from the JGC SRT into the D?

I know it would probably be a little smarter to take the 6.4 with the rest of it, but for someone looking to keep the 5.7 (in this case, because it's supercharged) it just seems like the SRT pieces should be able to handle the power since a supercharged 5.7 is putting down similar power when compared to the 6.4L. Thoughts?

Thanks--I saw the transmissions were the same, but the t-cases are different. I guess my intent would be to get rid of the Durango's torque management that seems to get in the way of burnouts. Maybe it's in the Jeep's trans controller since the hardware is the same? Maybe swapping the t-case would help?

Don't quote me 100% on this, but I think I remember reading somewhere that a guy had to have a custom program on the computer to allow it to operate in RWD mode for burnouts in his Grand Cherokee SRT8.

Yeah, I've seen the videos of the 1 guy that was able to smoke them and it reads like it took some pretty heavy tuning. I guess time will tell how much can be put through these 8spd tranny's and 2spd t-cases.

It's too bad dodge didn't think to put a smoke 'em/donuts setting on the awd dial in addition to low range. Nothing quite as satisfying as a parking lot donut or 10

Maybe there's something hidden in a combination of the buttons on the steering wheel: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, traction on, traction off?

Kind of like the Contra unlimited lives code for Nintendo: up,up,down, down, left, right, left, right, B,A, start! Wow, I really dated myself with that one

That's exactly where I was going with it: the Konami code!

Ripp is looking at 1-2 weeks from when i dropped it off. I would say maybe a bit longer. They have most of the parts in hand already, I think the only differences between this and the WK2 system is the a few bends for the tubes to the intercooler. Hoping to hear from them soon.

Good luck ufokillerz... can't wait for the final results... hopefully you have a garage for that bad boy and it's not sitting on a NYC street... our communist mayor might sight it for being too badass for city streets.
