if R17.73 is real, that is a huge increase of revisions and releases from R14B.61 (I laugh at the B as it really means BETA.. LOL)
You should also never have a release on a positive number as that usually is done for BETA and/or special branch
Positive version numbers? I assume you mean ODD numbers typically reflect development releases, whereas EVEN numbers would denote stable releases. This was in fact done with the Linux kernel for several years, but it never became an accepted industry standard. While some OSS software packages did adopt it, Linux itself doesn't even use it anymore. I'm not sure I would necessarily say B means beta either. If it were at the end of the version descriptor, I would be more likely to agree. But stuck in the middle like that, it could easily mean something else. Of course, since neither Uconnect nor DODGE seem to be interested in communicating with us, we may never know.

The B (beta) was sarcasm

Yea what is that about? All my songs from Apple Music say "NO FLIES" as well. Thought it was something with my phone. haha. What does that even mean?
My sincere simple guess is a lack of spellcheck, or in a sarcastic way someone actually thinks that’s how to spell FILES.
As seen below, some days I get the APPLE CARPLAY some days I get NO FLIES and on other days I get NO DEVICE when it’s actually connected. Notice these pictures were all taken within 25 miles of each other

This one right?...

Yes , but there’s a lot of time that the website said no updates available but there’s actually one. Since the next update for our uconnect 5 seems a big fella, maybe thats why they don’t release it OTA like the usually does, but with USB instead.

Here is the reply email I received from Dodge. Notice the email says "tentatively".

Thank you for contacting Dodge Customer Care.

We have received your email and understand your frustration with the concerns you are experiencing with the Uconnect system in your 2021 Dodge Durango.

The next software update to be released will be R17.73 for the Durango, tentatively expected by the end of June 2021. The update will be released as a Customer Satisfaction Notice (CSN), and you will receive a USB to perform the update.

Please contact us at 1-800-423-6343 if you require further assistance.
Funny about R17.73, my last correspondence on May 19, 2021 from UConnect Customer care about the issues I had escalated per @DodgeCares request indicated that the update would be ready by end of Q2 and the build version would change to R17.71 (Subject to change). Guess it changed. LOL.

I took my DD in for an oil change and tire rotate this am to my local dealer, service rep asked how I liked the UConnect 5. Told him it was full of glitches, and he said he was surprised as he was an Android programmer (Linux before that) and he was super ecxcitred for the UConnect 5 to be available because he said he should be able to fix it where the UConnect 4 did not have that option for him. I told the guy that lots of people are frustrated at the connectivity and app glitches for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a big concern due to the safety issue is when making a call and in the middle of the call the connection drops, which takes away focus from driving. He said what most of us have mentioned--that is a big safety issue and he can understand why owners would be frustrated. Can I play BT audio and connect 100%? Yup. Can I force it to connect just as a phone and make a call? Yup. Are CarPlay (for me) connection issues minimized for safety and connectivity while driving? Nope. I have learned to ignore the thing when it glitches especially when it could take focus way from the road. The frustration comes from the fact that we shouldn't have to do that.

They did the USB thing with my 2015 Jeep due to the hacking of the system. since it was such a big deal and made all the new rags, FCA sent out a USB stick with the update on it.
You would bring it to the dealer and they would install it for you if you wanted otherwise you could do it yourself or even download it and do it yourself if you did not want to wait for the USB stick.
I don't want a USB sitck, I want the software posted so i can do it manually if OTA will not be available.

@groucho There is no service rep at a dealer that is going to be able to fix the software.

I have come to learn over the years that service reps are clueless yet seem to think they know how to repair things based on what they read on service reports.
We are talking about a Dodge dealership. LOL

I'm a software developer and it's pretty hard to "fix" compiled code without the source code lol.

I leave for a 4500km trip in a week...come on update.

Also anyone else notice the auto brightness for the 10.1 screen doesnt work at all with the headlights on auto?
Check your interior dimmer. If it's all the way up I think the auto brightness is disabled.
