I figured I would start this thread to see what issues people are running into. I'm sure many of these will be worked out quickly but wanted to see is others are having the same issues I am.

1) Yesterday, my screen became completely unresponsive. It would not acknowledge any screen touches. This went on for 5 minutes and continued after a reboot of the system. Eventually it just started working on its own again. It started when my apple car play started up.

2) Performance pages are glitchy. They seem to crash when I select the certain performance page I want to view. Without fail, the G Force page crashes and reverts to the home page every time I click on it.

3) I am unable to add more than one profile. I called Uconnect and they said an update will be pushed out soon to add up to 5 profiles. Is everyone having this issue?

4) Screen not dimming when headlights are on while using apple carplay. It seems like its on full bright even when headlights are on only when on the car play screen.

Whelp, got my new to me radio today. Fingers crossed it lasts more than 3 months this time. I asked my adviser what happens after my warranty and was told that the radio has a 2 year warranty, but that starts from the ORIGINAL replacement, not the last replacement. So, in a nutshell, I’d be on the hook for any replacements AFTER December 2024 as I’ve been dealing with radio issues for a year now. Oh the joy!!!

My weather has not worked for over 40 days. With the new firmware I now get the following error:
Cannot find data online.

That tells me the weather is not satellite based rather internet based using the built in 4G system cellular connection, not the 4g consumer use cellular connection.
Tom Tom or Mopar or whoever is in charge to make sure data CAN BE FOUND (what a concept) should be branded the worst Automotive partnering ever. LOL

I don't even notify the contacts I have made within the UC5 corporate world about bugs anymore. I DON'T CARE! I LOVE IT! o_O:);)

I am on version 26.17 since sometime in May. My traffic flow and weather has worked consistently since then with only a few times being down for a day or two. Now, for the past two weeks or more, no traffic flow or weather at all. I have reset my radio a couple times. Still no traffic or weather. Have switched over to using Google maps.

My weather does NOT work most of the time. I get a message "unable to find weather data online". Thoroughly disgusted with the UC "features". And I really do not think Dodge Cares!

Wait, who is this and what did you do with Vice? You “love” it? Bahahaha

I will wait to hear what Dodge Cares says to me when they call me, I’ll report back once I talk to them.

I went on a mission way back when tracking down people at Stellantis. Found a senior manager of Uconnect. He was great at the start but got tired of me and what he told me never happened. (updates coming soon, OTA and you VIN will be one of the 1st. I waited almost a year and gave up with that person. I then sent a carefully crafted complaint email to lots of people. Next thing I know I have an escalation manager for the department that handles Uconnect. Still did not get what I was expecting but it was not that bad. I also spoke with a programmer on github but that went no where cause if you know programmers, you know what I mean. LOL

I want to email all of them with a WTF is wrong with you people. You STEAL my helmets and break everyone's weather. It's like there is an sftp server that UC5 connects to looking for data and there is none. Ya know why? Cause Tom Tom and Stellantis suck and can't provide quality fixes let alone making sure services work. But damn, those Sirius ADs people get who do not subscribe are always working, go figure. I bet if Stellantis figured out how to monetize the weather app during use, they sure as shit would make sure it works.

@Rdskins25 --> I am back. How's that :ROFLMAO:

Tell them you want an extended warranty on the Uconnect system as a good faith gesture on their part. They need to stand behind their products. You bought a vehicle with a 3 year warranty, you deserve to have a working radio for 3 years at least. So far they haven't given you that. They haven't given a LOT of us that. Honestly, I think the Uconnect5 warranty should be extended for certain types of failures on all 2021 Durango models, perhaps more. There have been so many problems - especially the dreaded UConnect box needs service error, all of which have gone completely unsolved. There is ABSOLUTELY an engineering issue with these systems, and DODGE really do need to step with something. This thing has been an absolute embarrassment since day 1.

How is there NOT a class action lawsuit for this yet? They sold us all broken technology for a very high price. I love my Durango, but it's nothing without a functioning infotainment system. Forget about infotainment... I have basic safety features that don't work like the backup camera... all because I was silly enough to use the remote start first! How stupid of me!

Stellantis should contract out LG to get the OTA updates working. My 3 year old LG dishwasher just got an OTA update and added a new rinse and drying cycle

LG dishwasher = $800
Dodge Durango = $53,000

Maybe it is just that LG takes pride in their products and wants to give a good experience to their customers.

With Dodge, I had to sign official legal documents to get a firmware upgrade for my UC5 system and FWIW, the version was older then what was in the wild.

Have a nice day!

I was just thinking. The OP has an issue with a 2021 DD UC. And some others have issues with 2021 and newer DDs. Here it is 2023 (almost 2024) and many if not all the issues are still unresolved. One would think the "bugs" "issues" would be resolved in two (2) years if DODGE CARES!

I access the Weather thru apps. APP - OTHER - WEATHER. I did not know you could make WEATHER a favorite.

I wish I could turn off (or at least silence) the Parking Sensors. They beep when backing out of the garage. And they beep and flash RED when pulling out of the driveway. Closest thing is the yard light about 15 feet away. And then there is the "Check Rear Seat" warning which cannot be turned off.

#2,604 ·
Yep, It should be Dodge DGAF. I do believe you can turn off the parking sensors, mine are off because it kept slamming the damn brakes on backing into the garage. Don't have the check rear seat warning that I know of. My next car/SUV will be a Toyota or maybe a KIA (neighbor just got a new motor under warranty, they didn't give him a second of hassle over it), they can keep their battery powered turds since they are killing off the Durango.

I had the same issue when backing into the garage! I turned off the brake but the beep cannot be turned off (backing and forward). Only settings are LOW MEDIUM HIGH. There is no OFF (silent setting). The option to turn off the rear seat alert is not active so it cannot be turned off. I turned off the "blind spot/passing light/alert". I have 3" blind spot mirrors attached to the outside mirrors. I do not use and do not plan to use the Adaptive Cruise Control.

My question is "who is driving this vehicle - me or the computer?" I been driving for over 55 years.

Well, that's awfully ugly with the hard, angular lines. Nothing smooth and comfortable in that vehicle.

Normally I would buy a Dodge, but the quality and service really has taken a nose dive, and I get the employee discount so I stayed loyal but they aren't loyal to their customers so I'll consider other options. I agree the Sequoia isn't something I would buy (it is ugly), and I don't like the screen sticking up over the dash either, but I saw it and we started comparing how each worked, Dodge UC5 screwed the pooch. From now on it's quality/warranty rather than brand loyalty. Keep the Durango model going and I'll stick with it.

So do we actually know from the UC5 clown show if this is supposed to work with or without a subscription to something or not? Pretty pathetic if you have to pay view weather on your radio as opposed to just looking at it on your phone.

***I have seen that the myQ app wants you to pay a subscription to be able to open your garage door from your car radio screen but it only works on certain car lines, and of course NOT on any Dodge brand models. Nope, wouldn't pay for that either.

I stopped by my dealer this afternoon. I think I know more than their IT guy. I was able to resolve/silence the park sensors...turn off the Park Sense using the button on the lower dash = no beeps and no blinking lights in the dash cluster.
The IT guy is stumped concerning the "weather not available". He thought it has something to do with my cell phone service. I told him what if I leave my phone at home or it is turned off and I want to view the weather...."deer in the headlights" look.
And the "check rear seat"?...no suggestion.

Not surprising, people at the dealerships seem to know less than we do, and they crack on people who come to car/motorcycle forums for information. Maybe if they were trained/updated better we wouldn't have to do that. I had a service writer (Harley) roll his eyes at me when I told him where I got some info from, turned out my info was correct and he was an arrogant dick who thought everyone who wasn't him didn't know shit, he wasn't there long.

I think you need the AT&T mobile subscription for weather. I could never get my AT&T hotspot on the 2021 SRT 392 to work, and in the course of testing they had me go to weather, then check if the data usage went up. So I infer that the weather app hits the AT&T data on that subscription.
I have the Hotspot service though AT&T for mine, doesn’t seem to help with weather but it does work fine as a hotspot for my Blackvue.
So was that then provided free for a period of time with a new car as I don't subscribe for that but I know my weather worked at some point....

#2,636 ·
As I mentioned in an earlier post, about a month ago the weather DID work. I was surprised! The one and only time it worked. I did not and do not subscribe.
You know the definition of insanity - repeatedly doing the same thing and expecting different results. I occasionally will press the Weather App. I guess I am insane!

Honestly, I've never even tried the weather... I can see the outside air temp on the screen, and I can see the road conditions with my own eyes. But if they offer the feature and charge people for it, it should at least work!

Switching profiles taking 2 minutes, android auto/apple carplay only working sometimes, the constant "uconnect box requires service" message, and the black screen of death after remote start. I would love to see these issues resolved.

Agree on the weather. Agree on the rest except for Android auto...

I actually have very little problem with wireless Android Auto, and I run it automatically EVERY time I get in my 2021 Durango. I had originally blamed FUconnect for the issues I was having, but once google made several updates to the Android Auto app, and I got a couple of OS/firmware fixes for the phone itself, it's been very solid for me. I would recommend an un-install/re-install of Android Auto on your phone, as that really made a huge difference for me. For some reason, just letting the Play Store updates install didn't actually get me the latest version. It's easy to blame DODGE/Uconnect for this stuff, but I really think the initial Android Auto issues were Google.

To be perfectly honest, I have many more issues with Android Auto (wired no less) on my wife's 2021 Acura RDX. That thing is an absolute mess with Android Auto in projected mode.

As I mentioned in an earlier post....DODGE DOES NOT CARE. I sent them an email about the Dark Mode. Their reply told me to go to the SETTINGS. Basically regurgitated what was in the manual and steps that I already tried. Also as I mentioned some of the current issues started in 2021. It is almost 2024 and people are still having the same issues. IF DODGE CARED, the issues would be resolved long ago. Complaining here does no good. NO RESOLUTION to issues is very frustrating. I wonder if the same issues are occurring with the Jeep brand with the same FUConnect? The days owning my 23DDR/T+ or a Jeep may be numbered. Jeep took away the 5.7L in the 2row Limited, what is next? I paid $60K plus for my DD so everything should function properly. ALL features should function properly and the owner/driver should be able to control ALL features. Don't get me started on limited interior and exterior color options! End of rant. :geek:
