2021 DD Uconnect 5C 10.1" System Issues/Glitches (Share your experiences)

I figured I would start this thread to see what issues people are running into. I'm sure many of these will be worked out quickly but wanted to see is others are having the same issues I am.

1) Yesterday, my screen became completely unresponsive. It would not acknowledge any screen touches. This went on for 5 minutes and continued after a reboot of the system. Eventually it just started working on its own again. It started when my apple car play started up.

2) Performance pages are glitchy. They seem to crash when I select the certain performance page I want to view. Without fail, the G Force page crashes and reverts to the home page every time I click on it.

3) I am unable to add more than one profile. I called Uconnect and they said an update will be pushed out soon to add up to 5 profiles. Is everyone having this issue?

4) Screen not dimming when headlights are on while using apple carplay. It seems like its on full bright even when headlights are on only when on the car play screen.

After I came from the dealer Today I called Uconnect and told them what they told me.
Uconnect opened a case for me asking what dealer was and the person that I spoke to and told me that I need to go back to another dealer to get a diagnostic because they have to rule out what are the problems to see if it is a software or hardware problem in case they need to replace the radio....This a shit show and nobody wants to fix and do anything. I believe is a hardware issue. What about the guy that put a really good explanation about the Telematics problem and a problem with the wiring related to the antena??has any of you tried that?

I just spent an hour on the phone being passed back and forth between Sirius Guardian and Uconnect support teams. Every time I would explain my issue they kicked me to the other team.. ugh. I can’t activate connect services in the vehicle even though I have a subscription active. I figured it was worth a try but I’m not sure they are able to actually support this software.

The dealer signed me up for everything Dodge when I took delivery.
I tried to use that activation and got the same errors. The ONLY thing that worked was signing up for the wifi hit spot because I wanted ATT unlimited data for streaming.
That was a chore in itself. The signup was in freaking micro font and anyone with adult fingers needed to use a touch screen pen. LOL

Can you log into the Dodge/Mopar app?

Yeah I am logged in to the app and the Sirius agent verified my account is active and subscribed last night. Everything except the FCA login/ Activate Services seems to be working.

T.27 is now on my Durango. Still no helmut heads and still dark mode only for the NAV but other then that, I will give it a deeper look tomorrow after ithas a chance to fully populate the apps.

I did notice a tutorial icon popped up in my favorite app page.

Oh my, I have good news. An issue that always annoyed me with the UC5 are the "favorite" playing POP UP.
The pop up was in super micro font and unreadable. That was fixed in 17.99 but it was still too small.
In T.25 the pop up font was larger and super easy to read. (more goodness to come)

Since day 1 of ownership, the "favorite" pop up would play a chime as it closed after a mall timeout..
The chime should happen with the pop up but it does not.
With T.27 in my Durango now, the alert chime plays when the pop up happens. EXCELLENT. 3 Model Years to get it right, must be a record. Alas, since Dodge gave the finger to MY21 and MY22 owners as far as UC5 updates go, you will need to use the T.27 posted otherwise MY 22 and MY21 will stay where they are at. The fixes all the way up to T.27 have been very good and now, the radio is what is should have been on day 1.

Well I installed the latest update, how awesome, I can't get my phone to do carplay and the iphone I use for music only shows up twice as carplay but won't play music. I've deleted the phones and reinstalled a couple times, still can't get them to work right. It's late, I'm pissed and it's raining, I'll try again tomorrow.

No weather app that I can find. But on the Comfort page they all have helmets.

I factory reset the unit. Whoa what a bad idea. for 1 hour it was on a blue theme and nothing was updating, the hvac said LO but the truck was pushing heat like a mother fugga.
I rebooted it and it came back normal (heat was at HI) but NO dang helmets. I hate UC5. My Hemi is better than what Mopar thinks it is yet I have no freaking helmets. WTF Dodge?

The UC5 debacle is what is to come with the EVs of Mopar. Stellantis does not know how to run a software company and they need to.

Lithium burns until it puts itself out. That means the car is gone, the people are dead and all because the UC5 HVAC system overheated the electronics which caused the batteries to burn up.

😂🤣 all fun smack talking :unsure:

Well, came out this morning and had the weather app, see picture to find out how well it works. HINT: of course it doesn't work.

So I was able to get the iphone with music to work after several more tries, and car play worked, then leaving work none of it would work unless I unplugged the phone with music on it. So it's updated but still works like shit.

UC5 and Sucklantis can suck it.

Here's the new issue, it shows the music iphone twice and one of them is impossible to delete, even comes back after I delete the other two phones. I just hooked up an ipod and removed the iphone from the vehicle, turned off the bluetooth and wifi, and it still shows up.

Carplay refuses to work at all now on my iphone 14. Going to do a reset on the phone and radio. Ugh, FU Sucklantis and your crappy programmers!

I see bullet holes in this radios future :ROFLMAO: :poop:

Lost the helmets (don't really care), everything turned a light blue color and stupid music phone won't delete, still shows up twice. So, removed that phone and I'm formatting a new old iPhone SE to try using for music only tomorrow.

Had to reset twice, the AC would not come off of LO for any reason other than full HOT, works for now. Who knows what else is FUBAR, didn't get past this phone fiasco yet.

You can put sprinkles on a turd, but it's still a turd. UC5=💩

EDIT: After another factory reset I now have the red theme, and with the new music only phone (has to be selected as the "ipod" button) and iPhone14 for Carplay it still doesn't cooperate most of the time, went through most of the settings as well. NAV seems to be dark mode only, but google maps works correctly and I would use that over the TomTom anyway. It just shouldn't be this big of a pain in the ass to get it to work correctly.

I sure hope someone makes an aftermarket replacement radio that's plug/play because the Dodge unit will go to the range with me for a full-auto adjustment :ROFLMAO:

SUNDAY EDIT: Radio refused to recognize both/either phone at all this morning, so playing around with it the screen goes blank, refused to come back on until a mile down the road, then FM only. Didn't matter if allow 2 phones was checked or not, bluetooth settings, wifi settings, USB only, it just would not work at all. I believe this radio is 100% incapable of having 2 phones hooked up at the same time.

Solution; remove the iPhoneSE used for music only and load the music on the iPhone14, do everything through Carplay which worked today, tomorrow who knows, effing 💩

It's a bad joke by Dodge and the entire FUconnect team. We will get an update after John Wicks car gets fixed, December 2030.

Anyway, here's a 10 day update. Carplay seems to just randomly disconnect, quite often, on a 30 mile drive this morning it disconnected 3 times. (using an actual Apple USB cable, not an aftermarket one) I will try keeping track of how many times it disconnects on my 1300+ mile drive next summer, oh man I can't wait to swear at my radio for 2 straight says. 10.1" FUconnect5 is still a turd with sprinkles.

Anyone have a friend at Sony that can get a radio made to replace this thing?

Well guys, like I said I will update. What do u think??..yeap that's right same shit...!..Got a message, Car ready, needed some kind of calibration and they perform a radio flash update. What a joke. RIGHT AT THE SPOT MESSAGE POPED OUT!..They brought the mechanic again...he did a reset. I said to him I have done that multiple times. So history short. The clerk came and told me they don't have a solution for that, that I need to call Chrysler Factory ; and they are told, they can replace anything for that problem. So I called Chrysler opened a case and told me to call Uconnect that I have a case already. I called Uconnect and told them everything what happened. Said they are going to call me. Still waiting!! A complete disaster at the dealer, had it for like 5 days, they brought it Dirty as F...after the first 2 days I had to called them That I needed a loaner, didn't even offered me one when I left the car. Everything was horrible. I'm losing all hopes. They don't know how to fix this and they even want to try I think!..I don't know if they even checked the wiring and the TBM like I told them. I had to pay 50 to wash the car after that. Just wait till warranty expires and hope they will have a fix for this and we will have to pay!...Error poping out Right and Left everytime!!

Tell them to replace the antenna. One person got that done here from their dealership that fixed it. I have had the C3 connector replaced on the telemetrics box and didn’t do anything - most dealers are telling people to wait for the update.

FUN FACT:

While listening for a rattle on Friday (found it, cargo cover rattles now) while driving, I was using the Mute button on the UC5 radio.
Guess what, it pauses the music until you unmute, just like if a call comes in, it pauses the music.

Fun feature but I still want my damn Helmet heads.

I told them to check the Antena and the connectors and the wiring. I doubt they did it. I got a call from Uconnect that they still need a diagnosis to replace something and to take it to another dealer and Im afraid I will have the same experience. I don't know what to do anymore. Dealer don't want to check anything. The guy told me that there is a software update coming on December but he didn't even know if it was for Durango R/T 2021. Also Android auto is freezing a lot, once you go from Apple music to map, you can't do anything anymore,it freezes. What a disaster that Uconnect 5.!!

hello all, I have a stupid question, as I've been back and forth to the dealer getting the various issues resolved with this POS infotainment system. I've had them replace the module, the radio (twice), and now I've got another appointment as my system will not produce sound. My software is sitting at the .99 prod version, my question is, IF I'm still under extended warranty, would you suggest flashing my version with the one that has been mentioned here in the thread, or wait until my warranty is up?

So, I just got home from the dealer. They advised that they have to order me ANOTHER new to me radio. I also asked about them flashing my software to try and save myself a step and was advised that they always install the latest and that I shouldn’t use another vehicles software. If it’s for other vehicles why would it work for the Durango. And I advised bc it’s DODGE! They just want more money.
I’m Lucky in that all these repairs are tied to the same issue so I haven’t been paying, but I’m sure they will
Charge me at some point. To which I’ll just say NOPE!

My latest bug that I have found I would like to detail a little more.

I get a warning pop up when saving a favorite channel. The warning says the favorites are full and give me an option to manage favorites.
Well the favorites it takes you to is the song/artist favorites.
I have also been noticing channels when selected with the steering wheel controls sometimes skips over it and the plays a random channel.
If I tap the favorite, the correct channel comes up so I press the position to re-save it. Then the warning pop up happens.

I dug a little deeper and found if you enable more than 18 favorite channel spots is when you will get the pop up warning, even saving to an EMPTY spot.
This is a new bug with the latest firmware I have.
