I figured I would start this thread to see what issues people are running into. I'm sure many of these will be worked out quickly but wanted to see is others are having the same issues I am.

1) Yesterday, my screen became completely unresponsive. It would not acknowledge any screen touches. This went on for 5 minutes and continued after a reboot of the system. Eventually it just started working on its own again. It started when my apple car play started up.

2) Performance pages are glitchy. They seem to crash when I select the certain performance page I want to view. Without fail, the G Force page crashes and reverts to the home page every time I click on it.

3) I am unable to add more than one profile. I called Uconnect and they said an update will be pushed out soon to add up to 5 profiles. Is everyone having this issue?

4) Screen not dimming when headlights are on while using apple carplay. It seems like its on full bright even when headlights are on only when on the car play screen.

Finally got into the dealer yesterday and I'm updated to the .89 version. How soon after have some of you seen the OTA update come through?

What are the changes from .89 to .99 (Please don't say .10)

.89 version seems to be the update supplied by the dealer due to the over the air issue not allowing updates. I took delivery about a month ago and mine was .73 Then about two weeks later it did an over the air update to .99. I was only in the vehicle for 300 miles and the .73 version was working ok I cant tell what changed. I didnt even get to set any driver profiles so far I like it much better than what was in my 2014 R/T.

For any one that has the .89 update what model stereo Mine has the Harmon Kardon that could possibly be the difference as well
.89 Is the Alpine ?
.99 Harmon Kardon ?

I would actually appreciate the mirror feature more if it was a standalone button instead of going through menus

Even more than that I'd like it if my current ram had this feature. My 15 Laramie did but not my 19 bighorn with the same uconnect. It's really just programming

I want to share my thoughts on the best EQ settings for the UConnect5. I think a large part of the bad reviews of the HK sound can be fixed by the correct EQ settings. I picked up my '21 TNG yesterday in Atlanta so I had about a 6 hour drive very early this morning coming back and had time to dig into this. I'm posting my thoughts and a picture below so that this may be a starting point for anyone not happy with their HK sound.

these setting should also work well for the Alpine system. my previous 2011 Durango had the Alpine system and my EQ looked very similar to this. please bear with the fuzzy picture, this was driving on I-20 at about 5 am this morning. :)

Bass: -4 Midrange: +5 Treble: +3

Chrysler - Dodge - FCA -Stellantis audio systems have ALWAYS had boomy bass. never understood it but every one I've owned that I can remember needed the Bass turned down to give clear sound.

Midrange is where the real presence is in music. vocals and almost every instrument operate in the Midrange. boosting the Mids gives a more fuller bodied sound.

Treble honestly isn't used that much by vocals and most instruments. everything tends to fall out after 12 kHz range. the older we get we don't hear the higher ranges anyway. and most car stereo systems produce very little above the 14-15 kHz either. a little Treble boost will usually 'brighten' the sound. but you shouldn't need much.

I encourage you to start with these settings and then adjust to your preference. I can tell you that with THESE settings SiriusXM sounds spectacular from the HK in my Durango.

Those do sound good typically I keep the mid lower due to all the reflective surfaces but it does not say what frequency the mid is effecting. I listen to spottily and I changed android auto setting to only work when plugged in with the usb cable this will supply the cleanest signal . Using the plug allows quick access into the locked out apps in android auto by unplugging the phone . This is required when I want to look into the history of Waze for addresses that I have previously driven to

I got the one-time use USB with the update from FCA in the mail. I followed the instructions and it seemed to make it all the way through the install process. It started rebooting the system and then an error message flashed up saying "Uconnect box requires service - please visit an authorized dealer." Now I just have black screen except for the Dodge logo that flashes up when you turn the vehicle off. 2021 Durango R/T w/ HK

Mine is an R/T with HK also. I got the same exact thing, then did the factory reset and let it "sleep" for 5 minutes per the instructions. After that started it up and it was slow and kinda weird at first, but improved over the next few restarts of the vehicle and no one seems OK - except I can't connect wirelessly via Android Auto. I get the same old error message saying it can't connect, restart wifi and Bluetooth on the phone and try again. But it doesn't help.

No screen issues here with carplay. Profiles are a waste of time, all it saves is seat positions which is way faster to just use the memory seat button. Absolute joke it doesn’t save any vehicle convenience settings. There’s more to a driver than seat position and music stations ffs.

however it is updated…had to turn bass way down it’s way too boosted now

I have a Samsung s21 and it works great with Android auto EXCEPT for text notification ring tones. The audio dips out but there is no audio from my phone. That was a regression testing failure.
BUT blue tooth now verbally tells you who sent a text which is pretty cool.

Rare, but I’m still having wireless connectivity issues with Apple CarPlay. On the way to the office yesterday, it showed my phone but not CarPlay. Worked like it was supposed to on the way home. Same thing happened a week or so back. Haven’t had any glitches since the update other than that.

How are you guys getting the USB stick in the mail? Maybe they know not to mess with me anymore. Who knows, it sounds like I better wait since others are having problems. So far the Android auto works wireless on our SRT.

Reminds me of our 2015 Durango R/T. Brought it in for an oil change. After all finished they said oil change and a radio update was done. That update destroyed the sound which led to me calling FCA and a few months later they fixed it. Keep in mind, the dealer didn't ask me to update it. They just did it. Next month for my oil change I'll remind them NOT to update without my consent.

Anyone using CarPlay have occasional glitches with Waze? Seems like at least a couple of times a week I have to close Waze completely on my phone to then restart it from CarPlay for it to function correctly. Otherwise, what happens is the map doesn’t actually move with me as I’m driving. It’s odd.

Using a Samsung s21 with Android auto after I make calls it will occasionally drop waze and spotify. I do a lot of driving to different addresses and like to use the history in waze as well that is not accessible with android auto enabled. Since I have been using the USB connection for better charging and sound for the stereo I just simply reach to the USB tug it out and plug it back in. You need to have the over air setting turned off on the app so that it only connects from the USB cable. This also allows for an easy way to get into the waze history for a pre loaded address or any other bugs just a simple unplug and plug back in dont even need to take your eyes off the road. This is kind of the norm with electronics needing a reboot .

Anyone else have this issue? I have 24 radio presets, with 1-12 being FM and 13-24 being XM. If I use the rear button on the left of the steering wheel to cycle through the presets, when I get to preset 20, it jumps back to 1, and the only way to listen to 21-24 are by selecting the station directly with the preset buttons.

I have to disagree :p. I had V1 of Sync and it was TERRIBLE and I mean TERRIBLE. The CPU seemed like it was from 1982 and nothing worked for me. I do agree things are F'd but it is FCA that is F's not the system. I would love the source code to system and give it to my software engineers for a month or 2.
