I figured I would start this thread to see what issues people are running into. I'm sure many of these will be worked out quickly but wanted to see is others are having the same issues I am.

1) Yesterday, my screen became completely unresponsive. It would not acknowledge any screen touches. This went on for 5 minutes and continued after a reboot of the system. Eventually it just started working on its own again. It started when my apple car play started up.

2) Performance pages are glitchy. They seem to crash when I select the certain performance page I want to view. Without fail, the G Force page crashes and reverts to the home page every time I click on it.

3) I am unable to add more than one profile. I called Uconnect and they said an update will be pushed out soon to add up to 5 profiles. Is everyone having this issue?

4) Screen not dimming when headlights are on while using apple carplay. It seems like its on full bright even when headlights are on only when on the car play screen.

I’ve been having same issues since March, black Screen, UCONNECT battery box, volume or heat just turn up for no reason, CarPlay won’t work ETC. They do know about issues. I have had my 2021 Durango since December 2020 and has been in for “service” many times. There’s supposed to be a software update but still waiting. Was told by someone in UCONNECT that issue is being looked into

Yesterday I noticed CarPlay was not active. Didn’t see my phone at all. I tried restarting my phone and UC still did not see it. I rebooted my phone and nothing. I connected via USB and still nothing! I deleted the phone and then re paired the device. Every time I went into the device on UC and clicked on the radio button to enable CarPlay it never did. (It did connect to the phone, just not CarPlay). Every time I went back into the device settings the radio button for CarPlay was not checked. I went through this a few times. Then I went into my Bluetooth on my iPhone and chose the UC. I turned off CarPlay on my iPhone and then back on. Then went back into the settings, checked the CarPlay radio button. I was then able to go to device manager and click on CarPlay. First time in the truck this morning since I did this and the phone connected automatically, CarPlay and all. I recently did the iPhone software update a day or 2 back. Not sure if this caused this issue or if it’s just the buggy UC to begin with. May or may not have been a coincidence.

The biggest problem with Phones communicating with the UC system is that the phones are always being updated/improved but UC5 just sits there like a lump and one must hope your new hot OS will work correctly with the broken OS of the UC5 system. The damn UC5 system should allow updates from the Phone for Apple Car Play and Android Auto. This way it could keep current.
Or FCA/Stellantis or whoever they will be in the next month, provides timely updates for the system. You use crappy 3rd world programmers, this is what we get.

Had a new one yesterday. Hit mute in a drive-thru so I could hear the attendant better. When I pulled away, I unmuted the UC5 only to find no sound from any speakers. Phone was playing spotify and waze thru wireless Android Auto. Timer was ticking thru the song on spotify. I stopped and restarted the song, hit forward, nothing would bring the sound back. So I disconnected the phone and reconnected it (which sometimes works). Nope, nothing. Then I thought... what about other sound sources. I switched to AM/FM/and XM... NOTHING from the speakers on any of them. So I held down the power/volume knob on the dash for 30 seconds to force a UC5 reboot. Voila... speakers came back and everything was normal again. So it was either the UC5 headunit, or the reboot did something to shake the amp loose. Who knows.

I just checked and I have the same recall and I have the Alpine system. Crazy thing while logged into mopar.com and I click on the recall link it goes to page not found.

My wife's 2021 Jeep GC has Harmon Kardon system and does not have this campaign.

I swear, Stellantis is royally screwed up

Maybe this is it. Maybe it is THE update we were all waiting for. Since it's called 2021 RU WD HARMAN RADIO - RADIO SOFTWARE UPDATE. The radio must be made by harman. Screen is panasonic I think.

Edit: Because it is a Y25, that is a customer satisfaction notification, so it's a massive campaign. I'm shaking

@DodgeCares Can somebody over there get us an explanation of what is going on? There is obviously something in the works, as many of the members here received notification on the Mopar Owners site that there is a campaign(Y25) concerning the Harmon Kardon UConnnect radio. Then the next day it was removed. So what is actually going on? We deserve an answer.....If you really do care, then find out for us.....

The blame game between dodge and u connect and we are stuck in the middle

Image

Uconnect had problems with the 2014 system and the end result was that's how it was designed and no fix was ever made. How you could even design something that would even do this is bizarre see the video below. 35 years ago car eq and audio systems were around and functioning great, is it really that difficult and how has anyone not realized the importance of a separate sub woofer volume control.

The campaign never showed up for me when this was posted a couple of days back and still doesn't show lol.

i had the android auto working, and the wife's apple play was working as well. but just today i took a trip by myself and the apple play kept trying to find her phone, when she wasn't there, and would not connect to android auto. the thing kept searching for her phone

i wasn't using a cable, but i wonder if i do use a hard wire connection if it will go right to android auto and forget about her phone

the wife's apple phone is set up as the main user since she is the regular driver and periodically takes work calls at any time of day.
