Took a picture with the new tow rig since the Durango is still squirrely without a trailer and don't want to try pulling with it. Avenger has winter wheels and the F150 needs wheels and tint still.

Went ahead and Plasti Dipped my hood. I have wanted to Plasti Dip for a while and thought this would be some fun and if it turned out, offer up some paint protection on the hood. I went with 3 coats Gunmetal Gray followed by 3 coats of flat Black. After pulling the D out of the garage and into the sun I realized 3 coats of Black didn't get me the coverage/even coloring I wanted. So I re-taped and applied another 3 coats of black. All in all, I am happy with the product and results.

That looks great!

Nice work! I like the look. I was considering some decals for my hood, but may look into this now.
Well done!

Finally got my D into the shop to get a new Martin Saine tranny and my 408 installed. I know, it's about time. Some day the whole story will come out.

Did you do them while they were on the car or take them off?

Sorry for the late reply, I see some members here already answered. Here is what I did. I got some trash bags, cut them enough to wrap the brakes pretty good. I didnt do anything to the tires themselves. Some people cover them with index cards but the plastidip will peel off the rubber after you are done, so no need for that. Just make sure when you are spraying, you cover some of the tire near the rim, so that it will make peeling easier. I didnt cover the lugs or the middle emblem, I left it as is, I like the all black look. I did cover the valve. It takes about 1 can per wheel, I did less and I can tell its not thick enough in some areas, so I will have to respray at some point. So far, no peeling or anything, and Ive driven it in the rain and a long distance recently, though. Make sure you cover all your angles. Roll the D a bit forward when you think you are done, because you will for sure see some spots you missed towards the bottom. MAKE SURE YOU PLACE THE PLASTIDIP CANS IN WARM WATER BEFORE SPRAYING, this and shake it real good before spraying. This will ensure a nice thin spray instead of a globby mess. WHen you are done, just take the plastic bags from BEHIND the wheels, NOT thru the spokes. The emblem was super easy, just tape it around but leave some space between letters and tape so you will have some to peel. Use a toothpick to gently pull at the areas inside the letters. Plastidip is really forgiving and cheap so if you mess up, just peel off and do it again... its kinda fun! Good luck!

Blacktopped my Limited

What tire size is that? And did you need to use spacers to get the older Rubicon wheels to clear the brakes? What brand spacers did you use?
