Did you extract yours on a mac? On PC it will ask you where to save, typically expanding zip on OSX via archive utility it is set to save in same folder as archive, will have to take a look at the utility and see if there is any option in prefs or anywhere else for it to ask each time. I don't think there is, but there could be and I'm just unaware.

Sorry to hear yer having a rough go of it.. More likely this is a bad download, bad unzip, or bad flash drive.

I didnt have any issues.. in fact, I started my car, plugged in the flash drive to the USB, and it automatically went to the update screen..

What computer are you using (Mac/PC/Linux)?
What operating system are you using? (OS10.8, etc - WIN7, WIN8, etc )
What size flash drive are you using? Is it empty?
Are you saving the zipped file and the unzipped file on the flash drive?
What web browser did you use to download it?

Just trying to help.. I know just how aggravating it can be

Just remember, what seems like should be a snap to do with computers is actually hundreds of thousands of lines of codes.. and one tiny glitch of a comma on one line of code or a missing period on a file name can mean it's not gonna work.

I updated my 2014 today to 15.26.1. EQ bug is DEFINITELY still there. I use pink noise and an RTA to see how the sound changes when adjusting the EQ (or source) at different volume levels.
For those who believe this update fixed your EQ bug, how are you testing? Are you following the steps in the video? Are you just listening to music or are you using pink noise and an RTA?

Spark and BlackPearl are spot on.

Use the below method to test, it's perfect:

Also, if you need a good testing audio to use, I provide this song on a SD to the dealer; DMB - Shake Me Like a Monkey as it has some nice full range (along with some bass heavy EDM music from say Bassnectar or Excision):

I run Parallells on both of my Macs with Windows 7. However when downloading the file via Mac and the most recent version of OSX, it does ask you where you want to save it. Save the file to the desktop and then drag and drop on your thumb drive. Could they make it easier? Most likely, but if you follow the instructions it's pretty straight forward.

Initially with a fly by night testing session after update I thought it had corrected the EQ bug on my 14 citadel but tonight I used the youtube method in detail and the bug is in fact still present. I could be wrong but what made me initially believe the issue was solved is the bass seems to follow up and down commands now. I could be wrong but before if I adjusted the bass up and down it didn't appear to make hardly a difference post update it seems to follow perfectly. This may in fact be the confusion in believing it's fixed.

Managed to get a VIN off CARFAX for a 2014 that the system accepted, so I was able to download the 2013/2014 RA4 version -- 556MB as an ISO. Update worked fine, but as others point out the EQ bug is still there...

Now I am really annoyed, as I pointed this out to the dealer almost a year ago. I first noticed it in April, right after we got the car, and have been patiently waiting for a fix... Since I saw in the other thread that there would be something in July, I sat back an waited. Now I think it's time to escalate a case at FCA.

best part is the hackers figured out how to update the firmware over the net yet FCA is too stupid to be able to PUSH this via the 3g modem in the thing. They are morons.

RR TSB is BS- it should be a friggin recall if someone can diable you brakes, tranny, and steer your vehicle. This is nutz. The morons should have pushed an update already.

That said- I'm not certain but i think they instituted some more security in the mean time to control the hackers. Around the 17th my phone app stopped being able to remotely do my keyfob functions. All I get is "request times out". It might be the app is fubared (as usual) since i can still use the website. So I'm not sure. Sort of related while trying to diagnose before i saw the article i noted my car doesn't have an IP address in the engineering menus. Wasn't sure if it had that previously- but the hackers say that's all they needed so perhaps FCA disabled certain internet access with sprint to control thing in the mean time? Anyone else seeing anything funky with remote access?

Per my face to face discussion with FCA employee who works specifically on the mobile interface the push update is planned and in the works, when it will be implemented is another story. He also told me that we would be able to send destinations to our vehicles in a few weeks, in January.

Un/install new app. Update, new app and everything works on my end.

I did my update this morning on the drive to work and when it finished the APPS button in the bottom right was gone and replaced with the SETTINGS button. I didnt have a chance to cycle the car off and back on as I needed to get into work so I am hoping when I get back in the car it will be fixed. Can anyone provide some feedback on this?

it will fix itself.

Basically when the system starts it pols the vehicle somehow for what to install. It figures out what wallpapers to use (there's like 10 or so sets depending on brand), what options you might have (folding 3rd row headrest, etc), and what "apps" to install (SRT, USA, anyone else). For whatever reason that takes some time (and/or possibly some power cycles)

Same thing happened to me with this install, the 3G indicator was gone, and the uconnect apps like pandora where missing, but after a while it came back with apps.

Your apps will show up the next time you start the truck.
Do you still have the remote start and lock\unlock service? If so can you see if those are working consistently? Since doing my update to the RAX 15.26.1 mine were not working. I put it back to factory 15.26.1 and they started working again but then stopped working and now ARE working again! Before they ALWAYS worked. I emailed Customtronix and they are looking at it.

#126 ·
could be customtronix but i'm thinking that its uconnect as things have just been spotty for me since the day they released the patch. I think the "network fix" blew up their system to a degree. Right now i get timeouts from the app, request mailed, network errors, etc. WHen i go to the website I get "Oops, the PIN you’ve entered is not valid. Please try again."- even with same pin as app and if i reset it- still balks.

Uconnect stinks.

#128 ·
Yeah I could not get any of the remote stuff to work at all with the customtronix patch\update installed. But when I reverted back to factory 15.26.1 it started working right away but it now it is intermittent. Seems to work maybe half the time. Customtronix did send me another patch to use. He said it has a different version #. I will install it tonight and test. But I also want to contact UConnect support to let them know the issue when I have the factory image installed.

#129 ·
Please let us know. My apps came back once I started my car. Pandora worked so I know it connected properly but it would let me do anything remotely like you. I agree. Hopefully it's not that FCA is blocking Customtronix! If so u will deal with it and cancel my paid UConnect subscription. I like starting by phone but not that much!

scuttlebutt on jeep garage about remote issue is that Uconnect now checks for version information and if you dont have the latest and greatest they are blocking connections. So we to be on latest factory version or the customtronix equivalent for remote functions to work. (also according to uconnect drones supposedly it can take some time after you update for their servers to figure it out- maybe they do periodic scans and you need to wait to get scanned and whitelisted?)

Further related to customtronix - apparently they were reporting their version info as 15.26.1020 and it should 15.26.1022
There's a new link to a fresh customtronix download for 1022

I got the link from someone else at jeepgarage and going to try but haven't gotten any email from customtronix.

Anyone gotten the fresh link from customtronix directly?

no time/too lazy myself to play now- maybe i'll try tomorrow...

phew- glad Magnus is on it. I was a little nervous that FCA somehow got smart enough to lock him out.

Also for the record- it is NOT entirely customtronix- uconnect is just totally sucky lately (I think i posted above I've had intermittant issues starting the day after they released the newest official firmware) . Customtronix latest was always dead though so there is something buggy in that one.

On the Official software-
I rolled back to factory 14.25.5 to check last night (was latest rollback I had from Customtronix)- it worked last night at 5:55 eastern time. But this morning had 6 failures at 8:19-8:21. I just tried once now to check (11:06) and it will at least give me "request in progress..." on the app which is more than this morning. But still "request failed"

I'll stick around official for a few days and keep trying so i can yell at them and they can't blame otherwise. My free trial ends in Spetember, maybe i can get some free time out of them....

Just some more Uconnect fun.

Yesterday with Customtronix latest installed I tried to use the website- it kept complaining I had wrong pin even though I used same pin as app. (A symptom reported by jeep grand Cherokee folks too in their thread at jeep garage forums). I reset my pin to try and fix and same result. But somehow in the process it now emails me a notification each time I do anything remote (my previous setup was text everything and only email about theft). Just now I went to futz with notification settings on the website to try and fix and get a webpage that says “manage notifications currently unavailable please try again later”

I think Uconnect service is in a complete state of meltdown at the moment. If i was paying this past month I'd go nuttto on them.

EDIT- and the dreaded 'Oops, the PIN you’ve entered is not valid. Please try again." message again!
