For those of you having issues here are a few pointers.

I don't use IE period cant stand it so ill be using Chrome. Many of these steps should transfer for both Firefox and IE.

1. Go to the update link https://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/
2. In Chrome on the right hand side of the link you will see a shield next to the favorite star. Click on the shield and click "load unsafe scripts"
3. Enter your VIN and run the check
4. If the VIN comes back with an update skip to step 5 if not close Chroms and open your Anti Virus program (I use Avast because its free and I know what I am usually getting into as far as websites and downloads go.) Disable your anti virus (Google your specific program if you don't know how to do this) and then proceed to step 1.
5. If an update is available click the "get started" link
6. Click the "Continue" button
7. Click the "Skip" button (their instructions will confuse to poop out of you don't read them)
8. You should now see "Tutorial Complete" and a "Click here to go to.....". Click where it says so
9. If you don't have the Akamai interface installed you will see a large "Download" button. Do so and save it to your programs folder or better yet make it its own folder.
10. Now once that is downloaded open it and run it.
11. Once Akamai has been updated go back to Chrome and you should see something like this "Update 1: UCONNECT (update number)" click on this
12. You should see a download button so click it (save this to your USB drive)
13. If Akamai installed correctly you should see a download progress bar under the download button with a play button to the right. Click the play button
14. Wait for the download to complete.
15. Once installed you can go here "https://rsur.download.chrysler.com/..._English_French_15_17_5.pdf?__gda__=1437101438_93d47a37207346422e22527ee8b5454b" to view how to install the update into the Durango.

I have in the past considered putting the finished product up for download on my MediaFire account however due to Chrysler having a larger legal team than I ive decided against that.

You don't need akamai!!

Scroll down to available software updates and you will see the word "here" with the link to DL directly via browser. Akamai is a PITA and is always running in the background on your machine. It is about time they made this an option to avoid installing akamai.

Yes you don't need Akamai and i generally uninstall it after each update however because Ive only owned for D for a few months and this is the second update and they have already changed the download process i decided to make my"how to" with Akamai incase they for some god aweful reason decide to keep it around.

Also I forgot to mention. When you are done downloading open the folder and right click the file and click extract. This will make the file into the swdl format you need.

I have no idea why this has to be such a complicared process. I opened the link with my iMac and low and behold it worked all the way up to the very end only to fine the file format incompatible. Next step was to use a windows lap top. tried Fire Fox, no go said the vin number was wrong, OK on to IE, dead end would not down load file. so in the end IE and Chrome was the only format that worked for me. I'm sure there is a better system.

Can someone post a link or possibly host the 440MB version of the file. I downloaded the 690MB version posted earlier in the thread, but got an error message that my system was version 4 and the USB memory stick contained the software for version 3. I have a 2014, presumably with hardware version 4.

I tried 2 computers, both IE and Chrome on each (including disabling scripts) and all gave a VIN error.

Thanks!

I just updated my 2014 Durango and it appears to have fixed the EQ problem for me, but it did not add the customizable backgrounds like on the 2015 Durangos. That is really annoying to me. The hardware is exactly the same in 2014 and 2015, but they can't offer the same software with the same features? This is the 21st century people, some things should be updated and new features added to previous model years. Especially if they are only 1 model year old and the hardware is the same... FAIL by FCA.

I'm not recommending this because I'm almost certain it won't work well, but if the systems are truly identical, why wouldn't you be able to flash the 14 with the 15's update? It has to be more complicated than that. Otherwise, you could just update yours with a 2015 owner's USB drive. I've heard some people have figured out how to "jailbreak" their systems too. The risk of screwing up the entire system, however, should deter anyone from trying it. At least the EQ bug was addressed. It's crazy to me that it was a thing in the first place.

Did u double check which version you should have? Perhaps it's a different version as mine is a different year/model. I'd enter your vin on the uconnect site and see which update is applicable to your rig.

I'ma complete computer moron. I have a mac on OSX 10.9.5 and I download the files and that dumb akamai thing. I finally (literally hours) got the .zip file and when I double click that it expands into a disk image .iso file.... not the file it's saying you should get and safe to the thumb drive. Anyone have any clue what I do next?

I tried mounting the .iso file and get 4 files: bin, etc, lib, usr and one black file called manifest. I looked in all the damn folders and still don't see the stupid file I'm supposed to save to my thumb drive. This is stupid.

I hatttttttttteeeeee Chrysler. First my Durango is in the shop for 15 damn days out of owning it for 20 and now I need to be a goddamn IT expert to update my 20 day old radio.... bullshit.

it's telling me in instructions I'm supposed to save file : CTPMY11.KWI to my thumb drive. I get a .iso file out of the .zip called "carom"

I see now, this dumb ass mac just calls it cdrom because it's an iso file. whats a KWI file? oh well if it's swdl anything Im saving that to the drive and going out

Great now I have SWDL.iso on the tumb drive... take out all media from system in durango, hit button twice with foot off brake to go to "RUN" and insert thumb drive.....

Outcome: "files not supported" this piece of garbage is really irritating me
