Anyone seen this? Any resolve for the issue? I just got the message on Sunday and it has since went away, but just weird it flashed up and shut off the auto stop/start system in the V6.

we have a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. this is a known issue on the Pacifica forums. its usually 1 or more of 3 things.
1) bad Aux battery
2) failing main battery
3) not being driven enough to charge/keep charged the Aux battery.
we haven't had the issue on our 2019 so I haven't had to become an expert on this yet.
all the Pacifica's have SS, but only the V6 Durangos have SS. you might want to browse the Pacifica forums for the most info.

#3 is the main culprit with my wife's new jeep. She only puts 50 miles a week on it if that and it mainly sits in the driveway.

Here's what I had to deal with on a customer car 2019 Dodge Durango that came in with the "service S/S sytem"
Replaced aux battery, perform a 'hard reset' (disconnect negative cable from main battery and from aux battery - if you do the main battery only it will NOT work)
Drove it for about 15 minutes until all the conditions were met for the S/S system.
Soon as it got up to temperature the warning went away.

FWIW if the IBS is faulty it will leave a body code "Bxxx" which most off the shelf code readers only pull powertrain codes "Pxxx". Now if you have the software called Alfaobd (~$60) and an obd interface that is compatible with alfa (range from $20 to $140) you can actually read SOC from the IBS.

This information is reported through a LIN Bus circuit to the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM broadcasts the information to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) over the CAN Bus.

Data gathered by the IBS, including temperature, voltage, and current measurements, are transmitted over a LIN communication bus to either the Body Control Module (BCM) or the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), depending on the application. The IBS serves two primary purposes. The first is to provide the Powertrain Control Module (or PCM) with both immediate and historical battery information, so the PCM can precisely control the charging system. Precise charging is important on a vehicle equipped with an Absorbent Glass Material (or AGM) battery, because they are especially sensitive to overcharging. The second purpose is to provide data to the BCM for operation of the load-shedding feature. A fused power circuit and the LIN bus are connected to the IBS though a two-terminal connector.
In addition to real-time measurements, the IBS transmits some calculated battery data over the LIN bus, including state of charge, state of health, and state of function. These values are calculated by storing measurements over time.
The battery sensor is readable/diagnosable via a “scan tool” that can display all of the available parameters needed for vehicle servicing or trouble shooting.

When the IBS is powered up for the first time or is powered after a power disconnection, it enters a “recalibration” phase, where the IBS must recognize the type of battery and its characteristics and state. So in this phase the tolerances on the state functions (SOC, SOF) are greater than in normal working condition. When IBS is disconnected from the battery, the device loses its stored memory. When power is restored, the IBS starts a relearn process. Until the relearn process is complete, accurate battery state information is unavailable to other vehicle systems. The IBS relearn process requires three to five normal, operator initiated starts with at least eight hours of engine off time between each start. Usually, the process takes a few days of vehicle operation to complete. Remember, the relearn process is restarted every time power is reconnected to the IBS. This has a major effect on the stop/start feature.
A Note about Stop/Start and the IBS - Stop/start operation places a heavy demand on the battery. So, during stop/start operation, the PCM boosts the charging system’s output to immediately recharge the battery after a start. For example, on the Ram HFE, charging output is boosted to 220 amps. This very high charging rate would not be prudent without knowing detailed battery information, because the battery or charging system could be damaged. Also, the PCM does not have enough data to determine if the battery has enough power to restart the engine. So, stop/start is disabled during the IBS relearn mode. The EVIC displays various messages when the stop/start feature is disabled.
If the IBS is faulty it cannot be serviced, it must be replaced.

- SOF = Battery State of Function: Battery state of function (or SOF) is a calculated prediction of the lowest voltage the battery will drop to during engine cranking.

My Stop Start service light came on about 6 months ago so I changed the auxiliary battery but that never cleared the light. Well I finally took it into the dealer to get it looked at. Reason being I will be selling the car soon and didn't want an active warning light on it. Dealer fixed it in about 30 min. The PCM was still showing that the aux battery was only at 16%. They had to flash the PCM to get it to recognize the new battery. Additionally they told me that they did a software update specifically for this issue. The software update is also supposed to improve the performance of the stop start system.

Open rear door their is a small panel on back door under window take panel off and make sure everything is plugged in
Yes, there is a 5 amp fuse that should also be checked. BTW beware that the FSM labels the aux posts incorrectly.

2017 Durango GT won’t start!
I was sitting at a stop light, and my Durango cut off with absolutely no warning. I finally got it to crank and got it home. The next day it won’t crank at all. The cab lights and dash lights come on, but when I push my start button, it just clicks and won’t turn over. We tried to jump it off...

Just happened to me it comes on and then it goes off the truck right horrible when the light is onAnyone seen this? Any resolve for the issue? Check for codes, usually if stop-start is not available it will state why...like "battery saver", "steering angle", "climate"...etc , but if it just states unavailable it might be due to other problems which could manifest into a pending or stored code.

Hello I have same message on my 21' Durango stop start not working all of sudden, yr saying there a battery just for that feature or n the engine battery under front passenger seat? I looked only see white plug mounted order each seat with wire harness to it but I not understand how do you get to these battery? Please Help

Or the main battery yr saying there under pass, seat I looked there no trap lid or anything how do I access these battery's??? Please help I don't want my daughter driving around if something not working or is it OK if that feature not work? I could use any help us dodge owners can offer
Yes it's under the seat. Remove the rear floor mat and then slide the front seat all the way forward. There is a plastic panel to pull up between the seat rails that exposes the batteries.

Hey meStevo, I got same issue I connected obd2 reader got DTC code:
P0027 which calls out the exhaust variable valve timing solenoid bank1. So I erased the code and ss message and test drove about 20 + miles got home and parked. Next day car wouldn't start. Battery v was 12.4.
Towed it to AAA Mech couldn't pinpoint
Problem but stated that the exhaust VVT solenoid was good and ended up finding a bad starter $1300 latter I picked up my baby and it Stop running in middle of intersection, now mech says I need a new Transmission Control Module @ $2800 + labor.
Lucky me Mopar on strike and no part availability for 6months. I was able to drive durango home while I turned off A ss by pressing button on console.
Car ran normal up to 45 mph. I wonder if I can just drive it without using the A ss feature till I can get it fixed.

What I can say is you should get your money back from that mechanic and be very doubtful of their diagnosis of the TCM. None of that adds up at all.
