Because the base of the Arrington wasn't working for me and the BlackOps option has hit a heavy roadblock I stopped by a local very well respected fabricator. This is not someone's garage but a full 4x4 shop that builds bumpers, rock sliders roll cages and axle gussetts ect.

I am dropping my D off on the 28th and they will be creating jigs and building a prototype strut bar. The pick below is not it but an example of what we are thinking. This will run behind the engine cover so there will be no interference with removing the cover. They are also going to incorporate the hood strut into the mount so we can get rid of the factory mount. Per Steve I will ask them to try to tie into the existing studs at the firewall to bring everything together and make this fully functional.

They are looking at $299 shipped and that includes the powder coating. I know that everyone including myself can't wait to see the final product but I want to get an idea on how many of you would be interested in the initial production run? (If you like the final product)

I would expect the prototype to be ready soon after the 28th.

I would be interested in any decent strut bar in that price range

Once it is ready I will find someone local to try it out but there is no reason why it wouldn't. This is being designed for the Durango with a Hemi.

I'm interested but would like you to consider a optional unfinished "ready to paint" non powder coated , unless its exact match to Redline Red

I don't see that being an issue. Just keep the questions coming and i will get all the details for you.

So they got the measurements and I should have a cad drawing to share soon. They are going to make this adjustable so you can load the bar from both mount points. They are also going to run it high enough to clear the v6, 5.7 SRT and supercharged models. As far as using the studs at the firewall, they were worried that the studs were too small to provide real support so they are going to model an add-on that will require us to drill out the existing studs and add inserts to bolt on the additional bracket. I will prototype this and provide details. These guys are serious fabricators and are only interested in providing top quality functional parts. Super excited.....

Pardon my ignorance onvthis subject but today I was at my dealer getting he oil changed and i noticed an add for mopar performance parts and noticed that chrysler built a strut tower for the 300 what woyld be the odds of this fitting in a durango. I am not an expert at these things

They have all the measurements and i am waiting on a cad drawing now. We are in central South Carolina so the shop ia actually collecting and distributing water and food to residents that are impacted by the flood so the drawing will be delayed a few more days and then they will get back on it. Bare with me.... Right now thousands are without power and water.

We are still on it but mother nature is beating the crap out of us right now. Already talked to the shop and they are fine with minor damage to the owners home so it should only be a short delay.

I think most of us have ZERO issues with the delay due to them helping their community dig (well, bilge pump out) of the monsoon rains you all had in SC.
