Mysterious Power folding mirror button

2014 Citadel loaded up with everything but technology package. I stopped but the dealer because the power fold mirrors are not working. We check out a new citadel on the lot, with the tech package and it does not even have the button for folding. Service guy had me make an appointment after taking a quick look.

My question, does anyone have power folding mirrors? Could not find anything in the book either.

Here is the button I'm talking about.

Are you sure that's not the "memory" button?

EDIT: My bad. Just found this article. Power folding mirrors is in the Limited section:

"...and power-folding exterior mirrors with turn signal indicators and auto-dimming glass."

That's weird cause Dodge website shows the following for the Limited/RT/Citadel "6"x9" Power Multi-Function Mirrors w/Man Fold-Away"

But then the Chrysler website shows the following when it talked about the new 2014 Durango:

Are we sure these arent just supposed to be POWER MIRRORS THAT FOLD!
Just Wondering...
The sentence POWER FOLDING MIRRORS could translate to POWER MIRRORS THAT HAVE THE ABILITY TO BE FOLDED
Also on Dodge's site Build and Price it makes no mention of these Mirrors

True but then you wouldnt write it as Power Folding Mirror, it would be Power Mirrors with Manual Folding.

Regardless the fact that the first post shows a picture of a power folding mirror, that seems even more interesting that has it but the rest of us don't.

I went over to dodge.com, and found that the Citadel comes standard with
6"x9" Power Multi-Function Mirrors w/Man Fold-Away
..
I didn't try to plumb the depths of the site to figure out where power-folding mirrors are.

edit: doing a quick compare of the "compare" pages for the D and the GC, it isn't clear to me that ANY '14 durango has power-folding mirrors..

That's probably a switch panel from a same year Jeep Grand Cherokee, those do come with power fold mirrors. Its funny that someone in the assembly line didn't catch that being that our Durangos don't come with that option. Makes me wonder if one could swap the mirrors and swith panel from a Grand Cherokee to our D's and make them power fold?

Yeah, someone goofed. It's not on my Citadel either. Honestly, button-controlled autofold is rather gimmicky in my opinion, but to each his own. My wife's XC60 folds the windows automatically when you lock the doors, which I thought was cool, but my previous Explorer needed you to push the fold button if you wanted to auto fold them in and it's something you so rarely would need to do that appropriate situations to press the button never really arose (I mean I think I folded them on 3 times during ownership over the course of we years - one time when it was necessary and twice when I was showing off.

For some yes. We park both cars in the garage. Two SUV's in the family so tight(ish) fit. I try to get tight to the passenger side wall. Maybe not a standard feature but an option. Like I said earlier...I would have paid a couple of hundred bucks for it.

Great on the power folding mirrors Vicarpity, can we retro fit them possibly? That's the only disappointment I have so far, otherwise I love the vehicle.
I cross a very tight bridge fairly often so the mirrors must be folded.

As for tilting mirrors in reverse, hate it. Just can't get used to it.

I disabled that feature on the second day of owning my D. I wonder if our Durangos come prewired and maybe we just have to swap mirrors and controls to make it work. I know for a fact that all F150 2wd trucks have the same wire connections as a 4wd truck.

If you read the instructions they tilt a FIXED proportion to their original position. Maybe adjust the seat height to get the view you want overall. The seats adjust in so many ways it may take some time to get the absolute perfect set up

"Tilt Mirrors in Reverse provides automatic outside mirror positioning which will aid the drivers view of the ground rearward of the front doors. Outside mirrors will move slightly downward from the present position when the vehicle is shifted into REVERSE. Outside mirrors will then return to the original position when the vehicle is shifted out of REVERSE position. Each stored memory setting will have an associated Tilt Mirrors in Reverse position." - from the user manual on power windows. This suggests that the reverse tilt cannot be programmed but rather has a relative tilt angle based on the stored position of the mirror for normal operation. My dealer told me when I picked up the car not to bother with that feature because it works horribly and will just annoy me.

lol, it sounds like your dealer was right. At least from what people are saying here.

Can somebody try this?. Set your seat and mirrors in memory. Put the vehicle in reverse and with your finger on the mirror edges, position the mirror where you want it to be in tilt mode. Put the car back in drive and put it in reverse again , did the mirror return to your manual adjustment?

I did it, added Jeep SRT folding mirrors to my Durango, its possible.. Now my question is, does any one really have a Candadian Durango with the folding mirrors? I would love to see a picture of the bottom of the mirrors where it meets the body. The jeep has a chrom trim the Durango does not so you can see a tiny gap at the bottom of the mirror where the door folds in with the body line, That will tell us if Durango ever had folding mirrors for export or if you need to buy Jeep Grand Cherokee mirrors and new modules and have your BCM updated. That's what I did and they are amazing, but I wanted to know if that gap could be made to go away if I found Durango power mirrors for export or is that a myth. Pictures please!

I know this post is old, but I just found this thread because I have been dealing with this issue for a few years now (when I remember to argue with Live chat on my Dealer connect page at work) on my own r/t durango. I work for a dealership and thankfully have all the information I need but cant seem to get FCA to understand wth is going on. In VIP where it has every bit of info I need about someone and their vehicle, options, warranty, etc, Below picture is the sales code (GUNS) and "standard option" on my 2018 r/t and there is no button for it but if you look at where my lock and window pad is, there is a spot with a blank button.. (cant push it). Ok, well my SIL has the same exact car as me and she shows to have this "standard option" as well, yet no power folding mirror at all. So, my techs here said maybe they tried to slide it through as an option in the pricing and hope ppl forget about it. Ya, I think thats a possibility. Its just missing a wiring harness. Well thats a whole messy process to go through for me. SO, I finally said just screw it. But that still pisses me off that it clearly says this on both of our VIP vehicle options, but nothing. Anyone else still alive out there to reply or maybe give me their last 8 of the vin and I can see what yours says?? Something to compare. My husband has power folding mirrors on his Ram and his options is the "LERP" sales code. So, wth?? Am I confused here? Am I right? Wrong?

My 2014 Jeep GC Overland has the actual true power folding mirrors with the button in the window switch cluster pictured. I don't believe any Durangos came with the power fold function. They can fold but it's manual. You physically push/pull on them to fold/unfold.

There's a thread on here somewhere that shows where a Durango owner attempted to fit the Jeep Grand Cherokee Power folding mirrors. It looked like quite a chore and not sure if he was ultimately successful. Do a search for it.
