Was just at my local dealer picking up ATF +4 for transfer case on my wife's Jeep and they had a new Hemi Orange R/T out front presumably waiting for delivery. Destroyer Grey w/ stripe. No Tow N Go, as it was the regular brake calipers. Interesting to me was the fact that this DD had both turn signal mirrors and fog lights. Maybe they have parts and are putting them on again?

Finally did a deal for a brand new SRT 392 Premium which was in stock at a Toronto Dealership, pick it up Saturday, not my original required color but color was never that much of a concern. Ended up with the DB but at least I got one, also managed to get my deposit back from the dealer that tried to fleece me and lied to get my money. So all in all Im happy :)

Got the call - my SRT 392 Base arrived at the dealer an hour ago. Will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon and post pics here! 🤘

Beware of high residuals built into leases now. They may not be such a bargain when you want to buy it out.

Then stop hitting stuff. That is not a problem for the members here.

So here she is guys! My SRT 392 Base.

Car is very straight in every way. Good gaps, paint is excellent except for some water spots from transit that will buff off. Very, very pleased. My only critique is that Dodge put some cost cutting trim pieces on the 392 Base interior. The upper door trim for example is not soft touch like the dash. It does depress slightly when you push on it, so it's not hard plastic, but certainly not the stuff that's likely in the Premium models, and certainly much lower grade than that in the Grand Cherokee Overland I'm getting rid of. Also, I still would have liked to have the deluxe interior package with the stitched leather dash and carbon fiber trim inserts, but what's in the car isn't terrible. The trim inserts look kind of cool, and the dash top doesn't look cheap by any means, rather just "standard" looking if you know what I mean. These are small trade offs to me compared to having to live with the red seats in a premium model, which I really hate. The black leather and alcantara seats in mine look great.

The 10" U-connect is amazing, much better than the 8" in my Challenger Hellcat Redeye and Grand Cherokee. So many settings and functions that it will take me a week to configure it all. Best part about the vehicle is that the engine pulls like a freight train, the steering, when set to sport or track is very firm, and the exhaust note is just right - bassy and raw without being obnoxiously loud or drony in the cabin. All in all, very satisfied.

I don't have decent pictures yet, cause I never let the detail morons at dealers clean up my cars, so I'm on my own cleaning it up and the exterior is FILTHY. Gonna go at it with a pressure wash, decon, and clay bar tomorrow, with a ceramic coating the next day.

Here are the dirty pics of it at the dealer before I took her home.

That statement caught my eye. About 20 years ago, I bought a new silver metallic Volkswagen Jetta GLS. The day I picked it up, I could see occasional thin black lines on the paint. The delivering sales person said they were "glue lines" from the protective film that the cars were shipped with. He said they would eventually disappear. Um, what? Unfortunately, I was too stupid to press the issue at the time. They did eventually disappear.

Congrats on the new ride. Looks great!

I just like a more conservative look. Can't understand why the red is the default color if you want Plus or Premium models. Shouldn't it be an option for folks like you who dig it?

My dad had a 79 Chrysler LE with red leather, and i've been hooked ever since. I agree, I assumed you had to upgrade for RED. Definitely not a conventional interior color.

Does anyone know the longest wait time between getting built and getting shipped? Mine was built on 5/25, but it’s been sitting in KZLD status since then per my contact at the dealership. It has an estimated delivery of 7/1, but it seems like a lot of people on here had theirs ship very shortly after being built. I live in New England so not sure if that’s a good or bad thing as far as when I would expect the vehicle to arrive at the dealership.

The longest last year was 10 months. The quickest this year is about 3 months total. Just sit and wait. There are limited trains and trucks that keep crashing.

I was 10 months for the build then three weeks for the ship from JNAP to Vienna, VA. It was a week on the shipping lot, a week on the train then a week sitting at the rail yard waiting to be picked up by the dealership, dealership was a massive 30 minutes from the rail yard, just saying...

2023 Durango R/T Premium AWD in White Knuckle
Tow & Go Package

Ordered 5/15/2023
Scheduled 5/25/2023
In production 6/13/2023
Built 06/15/23
Shipped 6/16/23
Scheduled Delivery: 6/26/23

5 weeks from order to delivery is not bad at all, esp when they told me expect 6-8 weeks.

So I finally had two consecutive days off where I could focus on cleaning up the SRT. Cleaned the engine bay, and gave the exterior an intensive wash and clay bar treatment. To my delight and surprise, my post-clay inspection only revealed one scratch on the entire car that was compoundable and buffed out completely. This is refreshing, since Dodge and Jeep aren't the best when it comes to delivering cars without any damage. My Wrangler had several areas that needed serious paint correction due to delivery mishandling.

Tomorrow, I'll rinse the car off, apply a graphene coating, treat the trim and tires and she'll be done.

Here's some pix of today's progress.

Great pictures. I like the lightweight option, it's really a neat specification.

I have a vice white 2021 Durango 392 lightweight with roof rack and factory tow (yes, I could spec it like that) that was severely damaged on the highway last week.

When I tried to order a replacement SRT 392 base with lightweight, I was told by multiple dealers that all Durango SRT 392 are on restriction. It's all done.

I might have taken an R/T Plus because it's pretty loaded, but they've now deleted front and rear parksense from it. That's no go for the wife.

And also found out that apparently all 2023 factory orders are closing by next Friday, 6/30.

End of an era.

Wow. I hadn’t heard that production was ceasing this early.Do you think there might be a selection of 392 Base cars in dealer stock that you could choose from? Maybe a cars.com search would yield something…

2023 Hemi Orange w/ Tow N Go has arrived. Vapor Gray. I'm a fan of the color with the orange accents. Waiting for some ceramic wax to cure and she should be all set.
It looks amazing in that color. After seeing your vehicle, I am kind of regretting deleting my stripes, ... but mine is white so more prominent. The stripes look great on that color. Congrats & enjoy! Looking forward to getting mine soon.

What is the longest anyone has had to wait after their vehicle has been built to be shipped to the dealer? Starting to get a little suspect about my order as it’s still sitting in “Vehicle Built” status and has been since 5/25 so just over 4 weeks. Does anyone have any special numbers they’ve called to get things rolling? I tried dodge customer service but they were less than helpful 😞

Mine went into production yesterday. It seems like 2 days is about the average time for build. Man I always hear the joke about a lemon vehicle being built on either a Friday or a Monday and here I am lol. Fingers crossed, hoping for a reliable ride!

Hi Orca,

Friday, 6/30 cutoff for 2023 Dodge brand factory orders, that is the story. Edit -- this may be somehow allocation-related in a way that I do not yet understand.

Last week I sat at the dealer while that (amongst other info) was confirmed by Dodge regional sales rep.

Before ordering, recommended to check if the dealer has an allocation, if that is required.

Orders already in the system will be built out through, I guess, December sometime.

Now as for the Park Assist, the web tool has it as a delete option "Park Assist System Delete" for $0.

When I test drove the dealer's just-arrived AWD Durango R/T Plus last week, I did check, and yep, no Park Assist. No sensors in the fascia, it just wasn't there.

However, I am re-thinking this. Did some order monkey check the box to delete the Park Assist? And if you don't check the "delete" box, then maybe you do get Park Assist after all.

Things that make you go hmmm.. I guess maybe can try it and see what happens.

Good luck!

Hmm. Yeah, I don't know. Maybe it could be allocation related. The dealer did tell me last night (Monday, 6/26) that they placed all their orders for the month last week, but that sold orders could be ordered at any time, so maybe sold orders don't follow the same allocation rules. /shrug

I saw another site somewhere about fleet orders that claimed that 2024 Durangos were supposed to start production in November. I don't know if there's a period where they may produce both '23s and '24s or how that works (I'm assuming one model year at a time because of tooling changes). But your guess about production through the end of the year seems like a good one.

I've seen some of our fellow members post dates showing that their Durango went into production or was actually built about a month after the order was confirmed.

I'm pretty sure they stopped taking fleet orders in early May. If they're to the point where they can crank out sold orders for people like us in only a month, I don't know why they'd shut down orders at the end of June if they plan on starting production for next year in 5 or 6 months. I can't see it taking 4 months for tooling changes. lol

Especially since half their colors didn't even start production until the last few weeks. By the time any of those colors hit any dealer lots, the order banks would have been closed.

Now as for the Park Assist, the web tool has it as a delete option "Park Assist System Delete" for $0.

Interesting. Can you look up that vehicle and see if there's a "park assist system delete" note (maybe it's an option for $0) on the window sticker?

I don't know why someone would delete that, but it sounds like it's possible.

Thanks for the info. Keep us updated. ;)
