you think that this ''behaviour'' might be related to something? Waiting your answer with a popcorn :geek:
Actually yes there are times I remote start my car and my radio is in and won’t connect to wireless CarPlay and times that it works vice versa even if u step in the car to turn it on most definitely a connection issue in the radio

Do u happen to auto start ur car then step in to turn ur car on or do u walk in and then turn ur car On
I use the remote start a good amount. But step in and start it up normally plenty. Both ways. Both I and my wife use this car a lot especially since we’ve down to one car the past two months. Have I had the once in while glitch from CarPlay where the phone doesn’t connect right? Sure. But it’s very rare and no worse than any other piece of tech I deal with. Turn it off, turn it back on. But I can count on one hand how many times it’s happened.

SMS notifications have stopped. I got multiple text messages on the way to work but nothing showed in the Uconnect system.
I will have to check it out later when I have time.

Spoke to FCA Canada today and they filed a formal complaint about UC5 connectivity. The lady I spoke with was very understanding but unfortunately had no answers about an update and referred me to report it to my dealership.

Spoke with Apple support. Went through all kinds of troubleshooting with both devices, zero solution. Apple claims that the devices aren’t the cause and to contact the dealer regarding head unit updates.

This new Uconnect System is an Epic Failure with FCA.

Maybe though, if an update comes and fixes all this mess we will be happy and never speak in a negative light about the UC 5C system again.
One can only hope 🙏

Did you try and set Auto On Radio to Last recall? if so, set it to ON not last recall.
it is obvious the Auto On Radio option is broken but which, On, Off or Last Recall.

My Navigation worked perfectly today. Voice based navigation including traffic. Very happy but it will it be short lived?
My traffic and weather has been working more frequently. Not all the time, but much more frequently. Not sure why it is working more frequently now, unless the updates from TomTom are actually being pushed through to the Uconnect5.

When I fired up Android Auto it connects with wifi not bluetooth. Maybe bluetooth is conflicting with CarPlay?

CarPlay uses Bluetooth to set up the connection between the phone and the vehicle and then it switches to use the WiFi for the actually functionality.

this ^

Wireless Android Auto also functions the same way. My guess is our connection issues are due to a required wifi module/driver update in the head unit.

It still amazes me how Dodge (FCA) released this unit with so many issues. Testing was either left up to the programmers (god help us ) or Dodge decided it was good enough so the consumer just deals with it. That mentality is what Chrysler had in the 70s. Send cars to dealers with all kinds of problems and leave it up to the dealer to fix the issue. Damn bean counters. When will car manufacturers learn premium pricing means features should work out of the box.

Yeah I just figured that out todya that it connects to the car wifi called android something and then connects to CarPlay sometimes it doesn’t work so I restart the radio and wait a few minutes then it work

how is your backup camera resolution/quality?

Again sorry to repeat myself, but my RAM backup camera was 10x better. I thought myself that FCA might be using only one type of camera across their fleet for ease of use.
My DD backup camera resolution looks like my old motorola flip phone in 2005.
Awful. MY wife ordered a 2021 GT Plus AWD and the camera resolution is terrible. We also have a check engine light that keeps coming on. The dealership has had it a month now. Longer than we've had it home. Today they told my wife, "that's just how the camera is".
