Just wondering if anyone has had any updates on there 2021 hellcat durango? I order mine back in early November and haven't had any updates from the dealer...
Yeah, Tim's running around telling everyone that will listen that the end of the hellcat is near, but not quite here yet. I wouldn't bet on more than a handful of years, although his comments are so hard to decipher between "don't worry, when hellcats go away we'll get electric power to go zoom!" and then says "electric power go fast cars are too expensive to be anything but niche for the foreseeable future"Thankfully they're still making and delivering other hellcats ... albeit three months late.![]()
I don’t know the logistics of Stellantis or the plant where they make the Durangos, but these days in order to catch up they’re pumping out an average of 100 TRXs a day by prioritizing them over other 1500 builds. Couldn’t they do the same with the Durango to get them out of the way in time and put lower trims on the back burner? If they get 2 months behind and they want to end production by the end of june,FCA will not have time to build vehicles for the dealers who kept the DDHC in house. Less built makes it more valuable.
What's a wagonier, Doc?They are using their new plant in Michigan which will also build the new wagonier and grand cherokee L. So I guess time is of an essence.
The dealers are paid by the manufacturer to prep the vehicle for delivery, and that includes washing it . . . this is required, so I don't think you will be able to prevent them from washing it . . .That's good to know that way I can keep on the dealer to let me know when it gets there I don't want them to wash it... Last time they put a few scratches in the paint
My ship date history:My ship date is 2/20,but who knows if that will be delayed. You can put a coating on the paint and seats. I will have them use something like xilion
Of course you can prevent it. Just put a 'do not wash' request in under penalty of hand severing, that's what I do.The dealers are paid by the manufacturer to prep the vehicle for delivery, and that includes washing it . . . this is required, so I don't think you will be able to prevent them from washing it . . .
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who opted for the "Lightweight" package! What color did you get?My ship date history:
Original: 1-26-21
Changed to: 2-8-21
Changed again to: 2-9-21
Changed back to: 2-8-21
Changed to:2-22-21
Changed to 2-20-21, which is where it's been for the last two weeks, so I'm thinking that this will be when it ships, which means it will probably be built sometime this week
I ordered my Durango Hellcat with the "Lightweight Kit", which provides a rear bench seat and no third row; unfortunately, this is only available in the Black Suede, and I can't stand Suede, so I'm going to have the Suede inserts replaced with matching black perforated leather inserts on both the front and back seats, and will be replacing the Suede dash trim and Console top with the black leather pieces that come with the Red Leather seats . . . the parts are on order and should arrive in the next week or so, which should be just about right to arrive at or just before the Durango arrives at the dealership.
It’s not something that requires paperwork.Do not wash... Is that something I tell the salesman or so I go in person and make them write something up and have them sign it
Do you mean what color for the body? Vice White . . . the only colors for the seats when you order the "Lightweight Package" is blackI'm glad to see I'm not the only one who opted for the "Lightweight" package! What color did you get?
