For additional info: It appears the 2016 update is different than the 2015 update. The version showing for me is RA4 16.09.09. Is this the version you 2015 and 2014 guys are seeing?

Also, it appears some folks have had the update take longer than 30 mins, and having a vehicle with keyless ignition set to "RUN", but not started, can cause an issue. As after 30 mins, the vehicle shuts itself off if left in RUN. Looks like doing the update with the engine running is uConnect's solution to it.

I ran through mine. It's all the same as before...

Just an FYI, this one seems a bit more unpolished from the last update. There's some quirky-ness that the two finger radio reset is not fixing like it usually does. Like audio stops between every screen button push, MP3's on the SD card not ordering correctly, etc. I may try another reset to see if it fixes these.

I have the volume thing on the current version too.Its only at volume level 5 or below.

I finally had a chance to do this update. My radio was at 15.42.0 and the update brought it to 16.09.09.

It did take longer than 30 mins to do on my 2016 R/T. This is an issue for those who have keyless ignition. You can't just push the button twice and then leave the vehicle while the update occurs, as the instructions say. If you do this, the vehicle will auto-shut off after 30 mins and potentially ruin your 8.4an.

I did it while watching my son at soccer practice, so I was in the car the whole time. 30 mins into the update, It was at 87% complete and I heard the relay behind the steering wheel "click", and then the vehicle shut down. Luckily, the 8.4an power stays on for a period of time, and I was able to press the start button again to turn accessory power back on before the 8.4an shut off. I had all the doors shut while doing this, so I wonder if the shut down would have been immediate if the driver's door would have been open? I assume the radio staying powered after the auto shut down is due to the usual radio staying on after shutting the vehicle off until you open the driver's door.

Either way, if you're going to do the update, then do it with the motor idling .... or make sure you stay in the driver's seat with the driver's door closed while it is going. Then after 30 mins, when the vehicle turns itself off, just press the start button two times to keep it powered on.

For those who are wondering, the update does 3 initial system updates, then reboots and goes through 14 unit updates:
  1. Pre-Installation ISO copy to MMC
  2. Pre-update ISO validation
  3. SYSTEM CHECK
  4. IOC-BOOTLOADER
  5. IOC
  6. System
  7. System Data
  8. Speech
  9. EQ
  10. Apps
  11. Embedded Air Card
  12. XM Pre Update
  13. XM Update
  14. HD Update

^^^I hear ya....I mistakenly first thought we were all getting CarPlay.
But honestly having mess around with it in a Rental Buick recently I was a little underwhelmed as I could not access Waze and only could use Google Maps.

Actually, CarPlay only works with Apple Maps. I loved Waze until they were bought by the Google Overlords, and Google has officially reached Supremely Creepy status in my book so I avoid them when I can. :(

Did the update, now I don't get notifications for text messages, I'd rather have that then Siri support, prolly going to Downgrade

What do you speak of when you say "all the functionality with uConnect that my iPhone doesn't have"?

As far as I am aware, there is nothing the S7 will do with uConnect that an iPhone won't, so I'm curious to what functionality you are referring.

Voice texting and utilizing Siri. I cannot for the life of me get Siri to work even though the Durango is updated (came that way from the factory). I'll get her to recognize my initial commands like "text the wife" or whatever but after that...nothing. I don't know...It's just a clunky interface with my iPhone.

I'm not getting the S7 just for the Durango. I'm getting it because I'm tired of the Apple bullcrap that my phone has. Mostly iTunes deleting my music and apps that are forced onto my phone that I don't want or need. The reviews I've seen of the S7 seem to be much better than the comparable iPhone 6S.

Ok, got it. So it's not functionality the iPhone doesn't have (as I do voice texting and use Siri with my iPhone 5s) but it's because your phone is having issues with these features.

The way you phrased your previous statements made me think there were uConnect features not available on the iPhone platform.
