Because the base of the Arrington wasn't working for me and the BlackOps option has hit a heavy roadblock I stopped by a local very well respected fabricator. This is not someone's garage but a full 4x4 shop that builds bumpers, rock sliders roll cages and axle gussetts ect.
I am dropping my D off on the 28th and they will be creating jigs and building a prototype strut bar. The pick below is not it but an example of what we are thinking. This will run behind the engine cover so there will be no interference with removing the cover. They are also going to incorporate the hood strut into the mount so we can get rid of the factory mount. Per Steve I will ask them to try to tie into the existing studs at the firewall to bring everything together and make this fully functional.
They are looking at $299 shipped and that includes the powder coating. I know that everyone including myself can't wait to see the final product but I want to get an idea on how many of you would be interested in the initial production run? (If you like the final product)
I would expect the prototype to be ready soon after the 28th.
