Greg pick up a truckload of these that way you can rebuild all the motors you have changed and you'll have your own recycling /rebuild center

Eternally grateful you think of me as my rear driver's side is starting to act up. I remember changing the brushes on the Porsche's alternator. How easy is it to disassemble regulator to get to the motor? I didn't pay attention as I junkled it as soon as I took it out.

I remember on my Ferd T-Bird SC it was plastic tabs that kept being worn down inside the assembly that blocked the gear from engaging. I remember finding a piece of solid plastic and trimming it with a Dremmel for a good fit. So hopefully this would be easier?

Pretty easy to get to and reassemble:

On the rear windows (which I failed to mention in the write-up ), you have to remove the two bolts on the bottom of the track so you can get the regulator between the track and the inside of the door. Otherwise it's the same as the front window.

Another tip, don't screw the armature assembly in too tight. Just a "very loose two finger tight." I did it too tight once and the window wouldn't move.

Greg with this information I believe that you should at each oil change just routinely change the motor Brushes in each door. That'll be some good quality time spent in your D

If you were a enterprising type you'd collect all broken motors and install new Brushes and send them out over the net as rebuilts.

Yeah?maybe I can talk The Fastman into a partnership. I'd collect core TB and send them over and he could collect window motors and send them to me!

I'd guess you'd be waiting a long time for donors on rebuilds

Would we get a series of whining posts about each sorry soul that sent in a set of broken motors for a rebuild? Maybe a more perfect set of Porshe or Ferrari window motors could be enginered as exacting replacements? Could we also complain about each little thing the donor D had wrong with it before the motors failed?

If so? I'd love to post right along with them :!: I could just cut and paste from all the earlier posts here.

Just kidding! ;) Luv ya all!
