For those that don't know I just recently placed an order for a 2015 R/T.

After searching thru the forums you have all inspired me to do something to my new D and I'm debating what I should invest in first.

Mods for me will be a slow process considering our current finances but i plan on having this car for some time.

As far as right now goes i think one of the first mods will be one of the following
  • K&N CAI
  • Catch can
  • 1st row window tint + front window strip
  • Fastman TB (seems popular around here)

For the most part I feel/think each of the above cost around the same amount (minus the TB).

I would love to start saving now so when i get the new D ill be that much closer to getting something new installed.

Also wondering will some of these minor mods cause a dealer to void a warranty. I'm sure if you roll in with a CAI and intake and are complaining about some issue they might push you away. I don't want to put myself in that position however i do want to make my D nice and noticeable. (Got to be different than the others)

Right now I am leaning towards the CAI, then the catch can, and the TB. The tinting may get done earlier but I'm not 100% sure what i want to do tint wise yet (legal or not).

What would you all suggest as a first mod/which is the better for the money?

Congrats on your order. Most guys seems to start with the CAI and go onwards and upwards from there. Depending where you live and for the cosmetic factor, I always get tint done first, illegal for me, but hey you only live once. One of the guys put a great list together, but its like anything bud, you can be cheap and grab a can of plasti dip for some minor changes, or plop $1400 on a new exhaust or rims. All depends on how much the missus loves you, or maybe that's just me :) Here ya go. #1 rule of forum, PICS as soon as you take delivery.

All the mods you can think of here!! Good luck!!

Pics will be a no brainier. Actually ordered from a dealer ppowell1983 has used in the past and I'm sure he will be their once we get our new D.

I did take a look at that thread but still reading and getting ideas.

As far as the lady goes if she had her way it will be stock forever. I am sacrificing (once again) to get the Durango (No offense but I still want my RAM 2500 Mega Cab) so she can just suck it up. We decided on the blacktop package so i dont think we will be getting new rims anytime soon. I do love the sound of the Corsa exhaust but its another one of those things that might just have to wait.

Thanks for the insight. As for as cold air intakes go any preference on brands? (I have always been partial to K&N)

I've got the k&n 77 series and am happy with it, but the others that are out there are also very good. The only one that is CARB compliant is the mopar one I believe in case your stats requires it. I may have an issue with it here in ny

After looking i think i might shell out the cost for the nice weather tech mats before i do anything performance wise.

Having a kid and using it as a DD the mats feel like they might be a better investment for the long run

That was my first investment too, and it has provided the best ROI for me just because it has pleased my wife much more than the CAI. We no longer have young children but we took our 14D hunting on muddy roads in it's "infancy."

Check out the Husky X-Act Contour (PN 53561) as well. Many of us have them and love them. I think the Husky's provide better coverage for the 1st row and are a bit cheaper than the weathertech. I paid $80 for them on Amazon, but it looks like they are up to $100 now..

Also whats with the cutout in the third row? Didn't look at my D enough i guess. Is this the spare tire release?

Since your getting your Durango after the winter weather is gone I would go in the following order. Tint, CAI, Catch can, floor mats, Corsa Exhaust, TB, tuner, supercharger and intercooler.

Your just taking it much further haha.

Actually i got in my caliber this morning looked at the floor and said to myself "mats are definitely going in first". Other than that your list looks and sounds good to me.

The cutout in the third row mat is for the latch on the 2nd row seat bottom if you have the 60/40 split bench in the 2nd row. If you have captains chairs in the 2nd row, the cutout is different.

you'll need to know which one you are buying for as they will not interchange.

When my D comes in this is the First things I'm getting for it. Then comes the tint!

Got my new RT last April 2014 right around tax time and I'm not sure the paint was dry before the front windows were tinted.

The rest of the mods go as follows K&N CAI, mate black brake caliper covers, body wrap hood top and around rear window, fog lights trim painted black, Hemifever / Diablo Tuner, black catch can , waiting for the UPS guy today with pioneer sub replacement and kicker amp, finally coming next week I have a Dynomax X-pipe being delivered sometime next week followed by a trip to the local muffler shop for muffler upgrades.

I didn't spring for the Corsa system just because the RT has a decent exhaust system already on it but wanted better flow and to hear the Hemi sound. By changing out the suitcase for the X-pipe seems to work well on both fronts from what I've seen on other posts with-out going overboard. Also, I did get the factory Dodge Durango heavy duty floor mats to save the carpet from snow and salt here in the Midwest just before winter, I those on ebay for about $80 and they use the mat hooks not sure if the Husky's do that or not. I'm waiting to hear the difference in the audio before changing any other speakers inside.

Good luck and congrats on the new truck.

After looking over both Husky and Weather Tech I feel I like the Weather Tech better.

According to the Husky site the third row mat will leave a carpeted area when the second row is lifted. If this is he case the mat in the third row would be pointless. Looking at the pics on Weather Tech's site the third row mat covers the carpeted area when the second row is lifted.

The Husky Xact fits fit better in first 2 rows than the weathertech.

I can't snap pics at the moment, but the huskys cover the carpet with the 2nd row up as well. Someone posted a pic on the husky vs weather tech thread thread showing the 3rd row mat I think

I am just giving advice...
You may want to price out the Mats with one of our cooperate members SPEEDLOGIX
They gave me a Great price on the mats for Mrs Fstdango3's Charger She has Husky XACT Fits as well for winter
