Is that for the rear heat only? And could I bypass it with a elbowcoolant booster pump (part of the heater system)
It is for front heat at least. I have one on my D and only have front heat. I think it helps circulate coolant to the hater core before the engine heats up and the thermostat opens but that's just my guess. Is that for the rear heat only? And could I bypass it with a elbow
Ya that's correct. Owatonna is the cityNot to highjack the thread....hey justin55060...is the 55060 your zip code?
Just curious.
The part is 160 bucks at the dodge dealer, I called them and they said its for the rear heat, and they said I can bypass it with no problems and not affecting the front what so ever. So went down to orilleys and got a 3/4" 90 degree elbow and bypassed it. Still gets nice and toasty in the DABout $85 to replace
If you have winter you need this, if no Winter Bypass it

Well my Durango has one and it has never had rear heat, so they aren't 100% correct on their facts - though I would assume there would be a booster for the rear, too.The part is 160 bucks at the dodge dealer, I called them and they said its for the rear heat, and they said I can bypass it with no problems and not affecting the front what so ever.
