I got the bulb in today and got it in but something isn't right. On dim everything seems fine but when I flip on the brights, there is an audible moving sound from the one I replaced and the beam is higher than the other. I've gone back and loosened and retightened the bulb twice but no change in result?

Where did I go wrong?
You should have a cut off similar to what the picture shows. Make absolutely sure the bulb is seated 100% in, it's possible for it to get cocked sideways a little and still feel like it's locking in place. It'll mess with your cutoff and hot spot location. I learned the hard way when I had to reseat both of mine at 4am on a back county road!

It's a Phillips and I bought it from amazon. It's identical to the one I took out. The output is identical to the other side and the alignment is perfct on low. It's only when I switch to high beams and the auto leveling adjusts that the new one projects too high.

Hm... It shouldn't adjust for just switching to the high beams. Maybe it does it to help light up road signs and stuff? How far up does it go? Got a pic?

Okay, both headlights angle higher when the high beams are switched on. The noise happens on both sides so that is apparently normal. I guess I've only noctied it when testing at a standstill. The noise would likely be drowned out when in motion. Now I just need to determine why one is so much higher.

Is the noise a thud like noise? There's a little flap that gives you the cut off on low beams, and when you click the high beams on it drops the shield giving you high beam. Glad you figured it out though!

Bulbs burn out, covering them under warranty would be ridiculous, like covering tires under warranty.

I never knew about the access panel in the wheelwell (my Ram has those but they are needed to remove the headlight housings); but why TF would you go in that way instead of just opening the hood?

The thuds are indeed the flaps that cover half the hid bulbs. I had a Cadillac DTS that had the same sounds. I do know that in my DTS I could adjust the level. There was a hole to insert a screwdriver that would adjust it up or down. Maybe this is what you need to perform. Or its possible that you may have dislodged something when you changed the bulb.

I noticed today that my drivers side headlight wasn't on. I've been experimenting with it and the headlight will come on when I open the door, unlock with remote or turn them on manually. However, the drivers side headlight goes off after a minute or so. It doesn't matter if it's in bright or dim mode, same reaction every time. It does this whether it's in park, in gear, or idling in auto start mode.

I called the dealer and they can't get it in until next week. They don't have a bulb in stock and said the bulb isn't covered my the 3 year/36k warranty. Hopefully it's something besides the bulb as they said it costs $300.

Anyone else experienced this problem?
check harness to headlight assembly pull off and look at end, mine was burnt from bad connection , new harness and all good.
