I have the tow package on my '22 SRT that was ordered in January. It tows my racecar just fine. A truck without the ability to tow is just a useless toy to me...

An SRT is not a "truck" and certainly the absence of a tow hitch does not render it useless. There is a reason it is an option and not standard equipment.

SRT tow capacity is front and center of their marketing. Tow capacity dosen't mean a lick without a tow hitch!

My ‘18 SRT has the tow package and what was ‘special’ about it was the special load leveling shocks. Not the hitch. Not the prewiring. The shocks. Which is probably why you can’t get it currently. If they can’t get ‘em they can’t sell em. This might have changed by now but it is true for mine!

With the SRT, the tow n go also includes a better alternator and a transmission cooler along with the load leveling shocks.

The SRT and the Hellcat do not have load leveling shocks, only the RT does. The SRT and Hellcat Bilstein shocks have adjustable valving, but they do not adjust/compensate ride height.

I'm not sure why this is hard. I didn't say it made the vehicle useless. I said it made the vehicle useless to me. I need a tow vehicle. I bought the smallest, least truck like vehicle I could find that could tow my stuff. Whatever you call it, it's doing truck stuff for me. If it couldn't tow my stuff, I would have had to purchase something else that could.

Well, it is now supposedly possible to place orders for 2023 Durango SRT 392's, with limited allocations...so I placed one. But according to my dealer, you must choose between a PREMIUM package with a crapload of options, or a PLUS package with a slightly smaller crapload of options. "Trailer Tow Group IV" is not available, but the class IV hitch and wiring are included in both packages. No spare tire, according to my dealer. Both packages include the red leather interior....so the "standard" black interior is not available. MSRP for the Premium is $82,790, and the Plus is supposedly $4900 less. The Premium includes the Harmon Kardon soundsystem, the upgraded brakes, the upgraded (CF) interior bits, and a few other things that the Plus did not have.

Aside from the packages, there are very few "a la carte" options (stripes, black package, 3 season tires.......not sure what else.....that may be it). Of course they are blaming it on supply chain issues but it seems to me it is a way to drive the price up.

Curious if anyone else has any different information.

Now of course is the "wait and see" to see if it actually gets built.......

So I am/was considering trading/selling my 2019 Durango SRT for a 2023 that I would special order. Just talked to my local dealer, though, who told me that the system currently won't let them enter an order for a 2023 SRT 392 with the Trailer Tow package. WTF? A supply chain issue? That's a non-starter for me, but I thought Dodge was touting the 8700 pound tow rating as a big selling point for all V8 durangos.

I told the dealer to call me when the system allows the order to be placed with all my "wants;" tow package, cargo group, technology group, interior group (not the red seats though), sunroof....I think that was it.

According to Dodge.com, there are only 4 colors available for the SRT in 2022 (black, white, red, and gray)....not sure if that was something new for 2022 but there were more choices in 2019. The website has not yet been updated with 2023 info.....maybe things are messed up during this transition period.

Or...maybe I will just have to order a Hellcat.....LOL.....

Our 2023 Durango 392 came with a tow receiver from the factory. The back bumper has a barely noticeable, and easily removable , panel that conceals the insert for connecting the hitch. Sounds like your dealer wasn’t very interested in making you happy!

Maybe you misread original post and follow-ups, from a year ago. Reciever hitch was never the issue. The full package was the issue which included a spare tire and jack, for most if not all of the 2023 model year. Not sure of current status. The hitch was always available and the hitch and cover remained unchanged from previous years. Nobody at least initially in the model year, was able to get the COMPLETE tow package, with spare, on the SRT392. Anyway our new 2023 was delivered in early April, exactly as ordered, with trailer hitch, with no issues. I obtained a spare, Jack, heat shield, etc, from other source. The dealer did fine.

While your dealer can add the physical towing reciever, they can't add a couple key aspects of the tow package:

The integrated trailer brake controller. Aftermarket can work, just doesn't integrate with the digital dash.

Spare tire (Technically this can be added, but it's very $$)

Enable the tow driving mode in the drive mode page. The tow driving mode engages the active sound canceling which makes a huge difference as the SRT is anything but quiet and the giant echo chamber that is your rear cargo area makes the interior loud while towing. Tow mode also puts just the rear shocks in track mode which helps a lot in calming the rear end down.

Even though i do not have the tow package or any of its related hardware, i still have a "Tow" mode as a usable option in my Drive modes page

Very interesting.... I have a 2022 Durango SRT 392. I have the original window sticker, and can confirm with complete certainty that my Durango SRT 392 came from the factory WITHOUT the tow package.

Even though i do not have the tow package or any of its related hardware, i still have a "Tow" mode as a usable option in my Drive modes page

Tow Package was an option in 22. I did get screwed out of my spare. Ordered the DDSRT in Feb. vehicle was not built until December the discontinued the spare after June of 2022.
