A quick question for those who have the 16 Durango. In the past there was some chatter about how the 3rd row seats in the Durango didn't lay down flat. When I looked at them in the dealership, they folded down fairly (95%) flat. I was told that once they got a little use that they would fold down perfectly flat. Can someone comment on how flat the third seat folds down on their D?

Thank you in advance.

yep, perfectly flat from day 1. We have the R/T with the napa leather standard.

Unless they changed the 2016 from the 2014, not flat.

There is probably a 2-3 inch difference between the area right up behind the 2nd row and just inside the lift gate.

It's most noticeable if you put a tall box in there or a dog crate. Then look at how close the top of it is to the roof.

Captains or second row bench? I think there may be some slight differences in the "flatness" of the second row depending on configuration. Definitely not 100% flat in ours ('14, but there should be no differences between '14, '15, and '16) with the 2nd row captains chairs (we also have the full 2nd row console).

As mentioned above, the more weight you have on the 3rd row when folded will flatten them out a lot more. Mine is totally flat now but I did have a slight incline when the truck was new.
