Thank you tomk for that post. Sure enough I have the xxxAC version. I've notice the smoke issue after the first week of ownership. Some days were worse than other days. I've talked to FCA which was useless. Talked to the dealer a few times as well. The last time I spoke with them, They said that they talked with their tech support. Said that the rings were still seating. That we have chrome-moly rings and running semi-syn oil, it takes more time to seat the rings. Since I'm going in next week to show them about the EQ problem, I'll bring this info to them as well. Thanks again tomk.

I got my 2015 R/T a few weeks ago and after seeing the huge clouds of blue smoke on startup searched and found this thread. Had an appointment scheduled, called parts and had them order the dipstick. Came in for service last Friday, gave them printed out TSB told them my symptoms and that my dipstick p/n ends with AC and it needs to be replaced with correct one ending with AD as stated on TSB. Got the car back that evening, was told everything is complete. Check work order and what do I see?! Mechanic checked and dipstick p/n matches the TSB, so TSB does not apply. Thinking that I was crazy go to check the dipstick, nope, still says AC. Call up the dealership ( Manhattan Jeep/Chrysler, highly DO NOT RECOMMEND ) ask them what's up and they proceed to tell me how professional their mechanics are. Told them, if you can read and actually do look, it's not possible to mess this up, at which point the service agent called Bryan calls me ignorant and then proceeds to give me a lecture on how it's not nice to call people ignorant and then hangs up!!! WTF?! Brought the truck back this morning with a printed out TSB again and a picture of the dipstick p/n only to be told by the same "customer service agent" that I'm wrong, ignorant and their mechanics know better! Almost lost it there but left the paperwork with another agent and will see if they actually fix it and 2 other issues that there were supposed to fix on Friday, told me that they did but did not actually fix. I hate going there but it's the only once close to my work.

It continues to amaze me how dumb these people can be.. the TSB seems pretty clear:

2. Is part number 53034186AD on the Dipstick?
a. Yes >>> This bulletin does not apply. Perform normal diagnostics.
b. No >>> Replace the Dipstick with part number 53034186AD.

Amelnik, you should ask for the department manager, and ask him to walk through the steps listed on the TSB with you. Then see if anyone calls you ignorant.

What toolbags like said above its a no brainer!

I actually went through this with service manager when I originally dropped off the car and he thought it was pretty straight forward. He was out yesterday, so I'll be giving him a call today.

So finally got the truck back from the dealership, all fixed but worst experience ever!
New, proper dipstick, no more blue smoke, no more code p1621, no more rough idle and lurching at low speeds and remote start now works again.
Had to file a complaint with general manager through dealer rater to get things moving.

Yup, my dealer service writer argued with me too. Said it didn't apply to my DD, only JGC. I looked up this thread on my phone and showed him that he was not alone in his ignorance, but still... I had made the appointment three weeks before, specifically showing them the dipstick part#. Of course, when I show up. They don't have the part. As they are not allowed to order it until a certified tech verifies...that I can read! They have to order the part AFTER the appointment!!! At least a nice and smart service writer stepped in and took over when he heard my frustration. He had the part shipped next day air and got it to me the next day. The first guy was an arrogant idiot.

Attached is a photo of the old and new side by side. As with many things in life, just a little longer is better...

I'm just going to order the new one from eastcoastmoparts.. at about $10 (plus $10 shipping) it's cheaper than driving to the dealer and either arguing with them or finding out they have to order the part (or both)..

Dang it! I got the wrong ~6AC dipstick too, I just checked. And it shows full! I will do the same. Local dealer hassle not worth my time (local dealer is VERY busy). Thanks

2015 white durango rt 6k miles. New intake then new heads new dipstick and still smokes. Fca agreed to buy back but we will loose all payments and about 2k of the down payment. On top of that they wont help with the dealer to get maintenance package and extended warranty returned. All of this in 5mo. Including having a rental car for a month. No help from chrysler.
Still smokes like it did before with the exception of more miscellaneous electical issues due to all the work happening. Cant drive 3 hrs without a light comming on the dash. Got screwed in las vegas. Dealer was worthless.

Good luck with all your problems. Chrysler wont help. Highway robery

new intake and new heads? haven't heard of that before.. sounds very strange.. how did that all start?

Took it in cause it was smoking. They had it a week and changed the intake manifold. 3 days later it was smoking again. Burned a qt of oil in 3k miles. Then they had it another week and chrysler said change the cylinder heads. 3 days later smoking again. Took it back opened a case with chrysler. Dealer said normal break in and it will smoke till 12k miles. Corporate chrysler decided it need the higher engineers to evaluate. 30 days later we get it back dealer did a leak down. Said it was fixed and couldn't replicate the problem. And added the new "super" dipstick. 3 days later same problem.

mine smokes on startup a bit maybe 1/10th the time. has anyone whos installed the billet tech catch can seen this issue go away?

im sure its not bad rings or seals as this mule pulls like a freight train above 100 mph. what the heck is the top speed on this vehicle anyways? mine is definitely making all 360 horses. must just be a bit of oil from the intake dripping down onto the intake valves after shut down. not a big deal, may even help keep the valves clean.

If you purchased the vehicle new, then you qualify under the "Lemon Law".
You should consult an attorney that specializes in lemon law cases in your area. I am sure there are a few.
Here is an synopsis of the law for Nevada.

The only problem with that Durango is probably the DEALER working on it!!!

Was in yesterday to dealership for a synthetic oil change(my second @6,600 miles, did 1st @ 1600 miles). Inquired about TSB & they confirmed & ordered me a new dipstick. I never noticed any smoke upon startup, just asked them to confirm If I had the incorrect one. Not sure if I really do or not being I personally never checked myself. I asked for them to update the system to confirm the radio recall update I performed myself over the summer. Service rep mentioned they would have to redo, because there were some changes(don't really believe him, just think they are looking to bill Dodge for it). Nonetheless, they performed a couple of other flashes as well(one being the one for the amp). They are going to contact me when the new dipstick comes in & I will have to bring the truck in, so they can install it for me. Really?, I am pretty certain I could manage a dipstick install. Again, I guess they are looking to bill Dodge. I just want to avoid someone overfilling my motor in the future.
