I just bought a new Durango about a month ago amd already have several scars from the taillight. Today was the worst in the target parking lot. What is the solution? Soooo sharp and painful!!!!

I was putting bags into car and turned to cart and snagged skin/arm on part that sticks out. I found a solution to put clear bumpers on it so it doesn’t do this to my son who climbs in and out through the back. Not super pretty but function over fashion.

You can sand those edges with sandpaper, or use a sanding drum on a dremel at low speed, or use a lighter against the edge to make the sharp edge melt slightly and become more rounded.

Never had this problem, but then again I don’t rub my body parts on my car. 🙄

It got me twice. I rounded the edges off and applied a very thin bead of "Liquid Tape" along the edge, using a toothpick ---And I now avoid it like the plague.
It looks like a red shark's tooth, and is just as viscous!
BTW: I first tried "Shoe Goop" along the edge, but it quickly yellowed and cracked (I think the Sun's UV attacked it). Replaced it with the Liquid Tape and that's been fine ever since 2019.

I scraped my forearm on corner of the inner taillight this morning while loading some boxes. This isn't the first time I've scraped my arm or hand on the thing or snagged something on it while loading or unloading the back of the vehicle. The damn thing is sharp. Seems like a very poor design...
