I have a 2016 that was terribly faded and decided on the paint approach. I just taped it off and painted it with a high temperature engine paint. It turned out great but I am waiting to see how long it lasts in the FL Sun. The vinyl approach would probably have been a bit simpler.

I don't think engine paint will hold up to UV very well. Rustoleum and Duplicolor both make bumper/trim paint that's UV stable.

My Durango is my daily driver. Although it's a 2019 sitting out on the sun daily has done a number on the black window trim. So I decided to try Mothers Back to Black on it.

I taped around the trim and then put the product on the trim. Eventually it took four coats on the more faded side (three on the other), but the trim looks almost new again. I should have taken a before picture so you can really see the difference.

I vinyl wrapped my faded door trim on my 21DD with 3M 2080 satin black vinyl wrap. Cut 1” x 3’ strips (4x) then wipe the trims with alcohol wipes. Apply the strips on the faded grey hard part of the trim just under the softer dark rubber part of the trim. You only need to trim the ends of the molding where it meets the hard plastic end caps. Looks like new and no need to worry about streaks from conditioners or chemicals.

I too am surprised yours are already faded. My 2016 isn't as silvery as yours. Maybe it's the salt air?

My 22 looks about like this already. 23k miles going to try and get it covered under warranty.

My 2021 R/T looks like ja2max's trim pieces as well - very light/white faded. I keep my Durango in the garage all winter (outside in summer/fall/spring so motorcycles can go in garage).

Another 3M matte film user here. Took maybe 30 minutes and completely solved the issue. Felt like replacing with OEM would have inevitably led to the same issue. Plus, I can't stand dealers or anyone else working on my cars.

Not sure if I posted or not but dealership replaced mine under warranty no questions asked
THX good to know... I am at 15K and due for LOF so I will ask my dealer for replacement when I take her in. Interestingly only the front driver and passenger strips are faded, the ones in the rear are still brand new?
