I have a 01Durango 5.9 Ltd with 120000. D was running great, bam a coolant leak, looked everywhere, finally located leak on the top drivers side of engine near the head. Is there a freeze plug up there, it looks like a circular shape. Video taped leak, what is that? Any help would be greatly appreciated....by the way Happy Holidays

None in the head. Below head on side and back and front of block. When you have them replaced use brass plugs instead of steel. They will last longer.

4.7's do have a plug, the 5.9 doesn't have any in the head.

i don't see a video posted. Even if you put up a picture, it would help. I can't think of anything that can leak up there except for the intake manifold itself.

The 4.7 is a totally different design, however youy are correct as to the stock heads. I was looking at the Edelbrock heads and they don't have freeze plugs in them. The advice on using brass plugs is still the way to go.
