2013 Durango Crew 5.7L. My wife was avoiding a deer in the road and ran off the road onto the muddy shoulder. I have some body damage and when I met her to check on her I drove it home. I have dash lights on for service AWD system, traction control and it says it's in low range. Also the N light is on next to the selector switch on the console. The lights come on sometimes they go off when driving sometimes at the next restart. It's definitely not in low range. I had a friend check for codes with his Snap On reader and it came up with a C (chassis code) but my dumb ass deleted the picture! It was related to the transfer case shift motor and other components related to that. The body shop had it up on the lift and nothing obvious looks hanging or frozen except for the lower engine cover. Any thoughts on this? I was reading all sorts of thing like maybe the shift motor or the selector switch or even the transfer case control module. I don't want to just start throwing things at it and see what sticks.
Thanks

Get the code(s) read again. Need the exact number.

Finally got an answer from the dealership that the body shop sent it to. They say it needs a transfer case. Insurance wants me too pay 47% of the t case only not the labor. No damage was found on the outside of the t case. The insurance company says it's a Betterment charge! They say that the industry standard for a t case is 150K and if they put a new one in it will increase the value of the vehicle I only have about 72K on it. I'm going to start a new post for betterment and see if anyone has fought an insurance company on this.
Thanks

What SuckAzz insurance company do you have if you don't mind me asking? I'll avoid them.
