Hey everybody, need a little help.

I'm looking to hook up an Autometer full sweep water temp gauge in my A-pillar pod and I see two wires coming out of the factory sensor. Can I splice into those to get a signal? Do I need to use both power and ground from the sensor and, if so, which is which? Can anyone vouch that this is the best way to get a water temp signal or is mounting a different sending unit in my M1 a better idea? Thoughts, comments, concerns? Anybody who can help out, thanks!

In order to not compromise the computer, you should install a separate sensor for the gauge.

+1. Use the hole you have in the M1 for the sending unit.

Are you talking bout the one out front near or I think directly next to the water neck inlet? I think they have you put a threaded plug in it when you first install it.
