Rough acceleration?

So I am in a 14 sxt 3.6l v6 with about 110k miles. Automatic with paddle shifter option.

this has been happening since about 80k or so. It’s worsening as it gets older.

When I push on the accelerator from a full stop, laying down on it or just easing it, it will jerk about 60% of the time. like there is a delay in between the pedal pressure and it actually going. Sometimes its a mild jerk, sometimes its a super violent one.

When I am on the freeway, say going 60, I need to get in the passing lane and quickly move around someone, so I lay down on the gas. There is a huge 1-3 second delay in between the pedal being pushed and the car actually speeding up.

It got its tune up at 100k and everything inspected passed great. Ive done the necessary maintenance at the appropriate times, I take very good care of it.

I don’t know what is going on with it. I have a live obd2 that sends all info to my phone and records it, and there is nothing outside its normal parameters.

anyone else have this issue?

Welcome to DDN. How old is your battery? Hopefully not the oem unit. If so, that should be replaced due to age. If it's newer, how new? Have you checked for stored codes? Has the CE light been on at all? The tune up included new plugs, OEM I hope, correct?

no check engine, and the only codes are for the body control module and the a/c, both of which are not actually an issue, they’ve been active for a long time and the mech and dealer can’t actually find the issue.

the tune up supposedly gave me new plugs, but after a month or two I got an oil code, and I realized they didn’t fasten the oil pan plug tight enough and the filter was installed off, like stripped the threads kinda off. This was all at the dodge dealership.

so they messed up so royally that I took it to Christian bros where they fixed the issues and while doing that had checked the plugs and asked if I wanted to change them. I asked why cause they were just put in and they were like…no, these are old, dirty.

too late to hold dealership accountable, just a he said she said at this point.

the battery is about 4 months old.

sorry for the story, but at this point I have no clue.Plugs and wires? Throttle control module? Transmission?

WOW!
Any dealer repair has a 12mo/12k warranty. If you were still inside that framework at the time, I'd have been back there asap, expecting them to make it right on their dime. If you have proof that you paid for new plugs, and they were not installed, that is fraud.
It may be a trans issue. Your Charger has the 8 speed, which Dodge claims is "sealed for life." Nonsense! The transmaker ZF specs a 75k service interval. You may also have a fuel delivery issue.

The factory coolant fill is good for 10 years or 150k. You are likely closing in on the 10 year mark. my '14 R/T was built in September of '13, so I'll get the coolant done this Fall.
