2000 5.9 needs new window regulator for front drivers side door. I wanted to know if anyone had any tips on changeing it. (I have a chiltons manual.)

I also need opinions on where's the cheapest most reliable place to purchase one. do they consider it to be front left or front right. I assume its front left.

Thanks in advance for any info you guys have saved me 1000's over the 4 yrs I have owned my Durango
thanks a bunch.

Window Regulator

I changed one in the back right door of my Durango a couple of years ago. It got messed up when the window froze shut during the winter.

I got my brand new one still in the package off eBay for about $35. I haven't looked for them for a while, but they're usually available for just about any vehicle.

It was fairly easy to change. I didn't even need the manual to do it -- at least I don't remember needing it. It was pretty straight forward. Although I have changed many of them through the years on different vehicles.

Good luck.

I have got the FSM for a 2000 "D", and can scan the applicable pages for you, if you want. Shoot me an email if you're interested. Also, left and right are referenced to the driver's seated position. Driver's door is the left side, passenger side is the right. I had my regulators replaced under warranty so can't speak from personal experience as to difficulty. But I did replace the locking mechanism in the driver's door, after the warranty had run out, and that was easy. Just followed the instructions in the FSM for door panel removal and lock removal/replacement.
