Drop in and let us know you just ordered your new Durango and don't forget to drop by our poll so that we can get a tally of the most popular trim!

You cannot use the run flat capability while towing. Thus, if you don't have a spare on board, a loss of pressure in one of your run flats will put you and your trailer on the side of the road. You could, however unhook your trailer and leave it by the side of the road, and then use the run flat to drive to a tire repair center.

You can take the word of the Factory, or you can take the word of a third-party website that knows nothing about the engineering that went into the vehicle you are driving . . .

I personally am going to trust what the manufacturer of my vehicle tells me, rather than some generic article from any third-party vendor . . .
For what it's worth.. here's Pirelli's page on the subject:

Run Flat anti-puncture tires

First drive home safely for 80 km (50 miles) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) and then change your tire.
So even if you tow (zero chance I would) you still should only go 50 miles at a max of 50 mph. 250 miles with a trailer doesn't seem to be in line with that.

BWAHAHAHAHA... You can take the word of the factory that DOES NOT MAKE TIRES, or you can take the word of the worlds largest supplier of tires. Do you really trust Dodge to know how Pirelli tires will behave? Hell, Dodge doesn't even know that their own product has 3 modes for heated seats! If you really think run flats are designed to handle towing loads for 250 miles, then you be you man. But I'm not going to do it. I just hope you don't kill anybody along the way.

Tire Rack doesn't make tires either . . . and another thing they don't make, is vehicles . . . I wouldn't trust anything that any Tire Rack generalization article over what the manufacturer designs into their vehicles . . . BTW--before I got the Durango, I had a TrackHawk (with Run Flat tires) that I towed a 27-ft long Bumper-Tow Toy Hauler with, and towed it more than 1000 miles, round trip . . . there are lots of OTHER folks doing the same thing wtih their DDHC's and TrackHawks . . . as a matter of fact, Dodge themselves shows a DDHC towing a Challenger Race Car as one of their promotion pictures . . . they have other promotion pictures showing a DDHC towing an Airstream . . . there is nothing whatsoever wrong with towing while on Run Flats, period.

. . . there's a big distinction there . . .
Oh... you are talking about towing with 4 good run flats? Sure, no problem there. That's no different than 4 standard tires. The issue is when you don't have a spare, but you have a failed run flat. That situation is EXACTLY why the factory tow packages (TnG, Tow IV) add a spare. Let's be clear, Dodge didn't decide it's okay to tow with a failed run flat. They just cheaped out and removed it from the packages, effectively leaving towing customers screwed.

I factory ordered my DDRT in September 21 and took delivery December 21. Last night some ASSHOLE hit me and totaled my beloved DDRT. So once I settle with his insurance company, gotta factory order a new one. As destroyer grey with red interior and all the specs I want isn’t available anywhere near me. What’s the build time looking like these days? And has anyone been able to order a 23 model with red interior and blackout package? It seems like I can only get both with the 22 model. Thanks in advance!!

Wow! These things are built so well that you can walk away, well, limp away at least, from a head on collision. Hope everyone is okay.

The Durango did me good in that wreck. I had to get out by crawling to the back seat, but I only had minor scraps and bruises. Not bad considering he decided to turn left in the intersection I already approached (I had a green light btw) at 55mph. I’m so glad I didn’t have my 2-year-old or anyone else with me. But I miss my Durango!!!
