Hello.

I recently purchased a new to me 2014 Citadel.
First Dodge I've ever had.
Always been a GMC kind of guy.

I'm coming off a 2006 Envoy XL Denali.
I keep my vehicles a long time.
Gm didnt have anything I liked, so it was between the Durango or the VW Touareg diesel.

I test drove both.
I liked both.
The vw out accelerated the dodge, but in the end I chose the tech.
The vw didnt even have a usb plug in it.
The durango has adaptive cruise.
It was the least expensive vehicle with the most tech in it.

Being in Canada I also bought the FCA Canada 7yr, 160,000kms gold plan 410.
I like to keep my vehicles a long time.

Observations so far in the first 10,000kms.
- The durango rides rougher than the denali.
I guess thats because it doesn't have air bags.
No worries. I can live with that.
- From 0-60kph, the denali will out accelerate the durango.
To be expected. The 5.3l in my Envoy is not stock.
No worries. I can live with that too.
- Over all I love the tech in the durango.
That adaptive cruise control is lovely.
I wont go back to driving with out it.

I do have two issues with the durango so I dropped it off at a dealer last night.
- When its over 24c outside the front center speaker crackles so bad you have to shut the radio off.
- Driving low speeds the rear drivers side makes a clunking rattling sound.

Here comes the bit about why i registered just to say thanks.

The dealer called me this morning to say he cant replicate the radio crackling or the rattling noise.
I asked him to drive at low speeds around his parking lot.
He did. He called me back to say there was a noise but it is normal, its a Durango, your driving around in a big box, echoing, etc.
I mentioned that the inet said that 2014's had bad rear load leveling shocks.
He checked his techconnect and said, 'Holy cow. Your right. Let me check your vehicle.'.
He called back and informed me that the parts would be overnighted and the shocks replaced by end of day tomorrow.
I told him that it was ok, and he didn't have to give me the overnight loaner vehicle either.

So thank you internet for getting me new shocks.

Thanks for the congrats.
So far, I am enjoying the DD.

No, I do not have power folding mirrors.
Which I also thought was dumb.

As an aside, how did you like your Land Rover?
My wife is bugging me to get her an Evoque.
(I keep telling her no. Maintenance costs are expensive. Closest dealer is 4 hours away.
She gets to pick either Ford, GM or Dodge.)
