Hey guys!! I just scooped up a sweet 99 SLT Durango, and I'm loving it. My buddy called me when he took it in on trade at the dealership and I was there two days later. It's forest Green (don't know the official color name) and it just broke 70k on the clock. Gorgeous, gorgeous gorgeous! I love it!! I'm totally new to the D world, and would love to learn all I can. (I'm a Chevy LS1 guy, have a 2002 Camaro SS that's my baby).

My D has some light surface rust on the nose, can this be fixed?

From the looks of it, there are some really bad D's owned by members here!

Its definitely fixable get it to a body shop you trust it'll have to be sanded down and reprimed and then reshot with paint

FSTDANG03, how much do you think something like that would cost? I've never had body work done?

I'm glad to own another Chrysler/Dodge product. I've always had great luck with them. I had a 93 XJ Jeep with a 5" lift and close to 200k on the clock that never let me down. I think I'm loving my D more and more every minute, haha. I forgot to mention, it's the 5.2L and it's got the Part time 4WD. What's the official name of the color of my truck?

Nice find, good miles. Should lead you to 200K. Body work is minor repairs, I'd be doing the body work myself, then send it to Macco for paint. Your paint code: PG8 Forest Green.

welcome. there seems to be a rash of 70,000 mile D's joining in! glad you found us. you may find that your rust is coming from the inside so look on the backside with a flashlight. you may just want to opt for a Stillen bumper cover for that '99. I covered mine up. The steel piece of the bumper on mine is pretty bad these days. the dealer fixed it right after I bought mine but the rust came back from the toher side. it's pretty bad these days but it's covered by the new bumper cover.

good luck. it shouldn't cost too much to paint it as long as it's solid.

My Guess is some 5 year Leases are running ot 70000 miles divided by 15k per year = 4.67 Years
That would be my only guess on some of them

MY slt+ has the leather seat, steering wheel, infinite stereo. I also have the power driver seat, suede door panels and seat insets and overhead trip computer with 2 compartments.
SLT+ never had the + associated with it anywhere except at the dealership. It's one of the top line convience packages available at build time. I think even the roof racks where part of the + package.

In my case the owner died and the widow never drove a car in her life. The neighbors were selling it for her. I'm told he'd have had it as long as he lived, and I guess he did.

Hello and welcome!! As for the rust upper, I have the perfect picture of a recent job/solution to your problem? (Having one hell of a time putting the kennesaw bumper on so a pic maybe tonight ) I had the same problem, but mine was rusted from the inside out so you might want to look to that before getting a quote, more than likely it might be that and the upper piece might have to be replaced.

Edit* Then again I'm the second owner, and it seems it was neglected alotttt, so that might not be your problem. :wall:

hey very nice D man, looks like the one my family had back when we were up north. the surface rust can be fixed really easily. you should be able to do it yoursellf (if its at where I think it's) or any local body shop should be able to do it?

Welcome aboard! The Slt + had leather, rear heat and air, possibly heated front seats.

It's nice to see another forest green D!! Yeah baby! That's a real cool color. I have a 98 Slt. It doesn't look anything like how I got it because the mod bug infected me real bad here.

The first major mod I did after the K+N kit was a power moonroof. I tell ya its a totally different world with that.
