Nope, all the RTs get decent mileage. My EVIC shows 15.6-16.0 but when I calculate it I am getting just under 15. This does prove that the car doesn't display correct mileage and it's because as you idle the mileage drops but the EVIC doesn't show it. Have you tried resetting all of your mileage counters? You might be looking at one that you never reset.

I cant believe everyone with a RT is getting at least 50 more miles per tank than my GT. WTF?
Same thing happened on my chargers.

My sons gt v6 was getting 14-15 and my scat pack charger was getting 17.

That v6 struggles to move such a heavy car or vehicle and has no mode other than v6... the 392 and the 5.7 both have 4 cylinder mode. On the scat lack it actually makes a difference.

On my Durango rt I was averaging 16 driving easy with a mix it city and highway but I sold it already and got a Widebody charger two weeks ago... It averages more than my Durango did somehow lol.

I seriously think people here are full of sht with their MPG.
If you want, I can show you actual data - my Durango will be 7 years old on May 1, I fill it up every time, and have tracked every fill up. I have recorded date, mileage, miles driven, fuel amount, cost, and price per gallon for every one. I don't pay attention to the EVIC MPG, it is generally optimistic by 1-2 mpg. In those (almost) 7 years, and 178,800 miles, I've averaged 19.68 mpg, that's about a 60/40 split of highway/city driving. My best tankful got 26.1 mpg.

My evic about the same, which means I'm averaging 14mpg. Yup, that's on a V6. Today I am doing a 350 mile trip, 90% HWY. I will reset evic, and calculate manually. Lets see what the best I can do. I bet I don't even make the full trip on one tank.

This makes some sense, but what about all the people claiming the much better MPG on their v6's??

I don’t know but so many variables factor is, it’s hard to compare.

But I gave you my real world.

Funny part is, when we had two identical Durango’s mine was avg 15.5-16.5 as most of my drive to work is highway and my son who only drives city no highway is averaging about 12.5. That’s a huge difference and the 2 cars are identical living at the same home so same weather and conditions except city vs highway. It shows how different same car can be depending.

Funniest part is my 392 scat pack gets better mileage than my 5.7 Durango, same exact routes and conditions.

Well who knew strictly 100% hwy driving would net 25mpg!!! Its the suburban driving getting only 11ish, which is pretty pathetic. That's not city, but hwy and stop and go mixed in. Happy with hwy mileage, but suburban still blows. Explorer was MUCH better, but overall I like the durango better.

I have noticed that my EVIC is off a fair bit when I manually calculate the fuel mileage. I'm seeing an average of 0.4L/100km or 1mpg actual consumption more than the EVIC is reporting.......I'm usually getting 12.2-12.5L/100km or 30-29mpg on a tank, but when I do the math its almost 13, I figured it would be more accurate but there is probably variables that I can't see that are causing this.

All I can say is ... this seems to be the only real downside to the Durango, I can live with it as the pros outweigh the cons. It’s such a great vehicle.

I finally got a road trip done last weekend, short miami to Orlando , but with my son and 2 other teammates who check in at 6’3, 6’6” and 6’4” and they were very comfy ... if I had them in the back of the charger it wouldn’t have been so pleasant lol. Thing drove like a champ, don’t remember the exact mileage but there is a orice to pay for a large heavy 7 seater with a huge v8’s, but again it’s well worth it.

Did a couple of tests during the last two tanks:

1st test: 348 miles driven. Grandma driving, moderate accelerations always, Eco mode on.
Computer indicated 16.7 mpg. Receipt calculation showed 15.2 mpg.

2nd test: 340 miles driven. Free for all, hard acceleration on on-ramps, frequent paddle shifters usage, Eco mode off.
Computer indicated 16.5 mpg. Receipt calculation showed 15.3 mpg.

So, long story short, it doesn’t make a huge difference how I drive as far as mpgs in mixed driving.

'18 Citadel V6... 25K on it and best so far was 517 on one tank with Chevron Premium, 75% interstate, and summer gas. Summer gas avg. 21'ish mpg's and winter gas gets me 19.5'ish mpg's. I have a big mix of interstate and in town driving everyday. I don't drive like a grandma and the V6 is good to me... I almost bought the V8 but it was missing a couple features the V6 had, so ended up with better mpg's.

Mileage is getting slightly better on my DDRT, I hit a solid 20mpg (52miles to work, 40 miles mainly country road driving, hills, open areas, stop signs, 12 miles of city driving, not much open highway driving). I forgot the actual miles but it was around 420 on the tank with the needle at 1/8 tank before I filled up (about 50 miles left on the tank for the computer indication) just over 6k on the odometer and the weather is starting to get warmer..........not bad IMO

What a wasted post.
