We like ours and the Maps seem to be all current...
The maps are not current. Even the update which I purchased for $149 and installed is not up to date. Whenever we travel I use a Garmin 3597 which I have mounted using a proclip mount system. With the Garmin I get HD traffic, better display of exits, etc., and the updates are free and are done on a regular basis. I do think that CarPlay is an advantage because the maps are always current, and ease of use in selecting your target destination. Knowing what I know now, I would not have paid the upgrade fee, as I have two major highways near me that have been open for 3 years, and neither appears on my factory nav. The Garmin has both, and has had for some time.

My son's Chrysler 200 (purchased in Oct. 2015) is equally out of date, with no upgrade available yet. I would say best solution is to get a mount for your iPhone/Android and use either google maps or Apple maps for an accurate GPS system.

I have to say the 2016 nav system is greatly improved over what we had in our 2012. I have no idea what the 2013 - 2015's have, but the 2016 is really nice.

Off the top of my head, I appreciate the fact that is shows actual lanes of the road you're traveling, and tells you which lane to be in for an upcoming turn. And they're accurate, at least in my experience. Several of the toll roads around here are new, and they're even in the system, with accurate lane designations.

I also like the fact the voice prompts give the exit #, as well as the street name of the exit. I don't think our 2012 with the 730N system did this.

I also really like the hands free POI location and destination setting ability of the 2016 system.

I have yet to come across a road that is not on the maps, although I did notice on one of the toll roads it lists the speed limit as 70mph, when it's actually 75mph. But to be fair, I think that was changed within the past year.

things i don't like:
- key chime constantly beeping when leaving vehicle running and key is away from drivers seat.
- constant shifting when cruising slightly uphill
- center console usb not seeing connected device (ipod) periodically.
- forward collision warning system applies the brakes too hard when coming up close to someone, most of the time i'm worried of someone slamming into me from rear on those occasions.
- Also on parkway/highway when passing a vehicle if too close, the system will apply the brakes automatically and flash/ beep warning lights on drivers console.
- Seats could be a little more comfortable.
- wish rear seats slid back a little for more rear leg room for taller drivers and the passenger's behind them.
- farting vibrating sound when vehicle is cruising and in eco mode
- stock wiper blades leave streak marks too much

I can't believe I haven't posted in this thread yet. Where the hell have I been?

So my biggest gripe is the exhaust smell after hard acceleration. Even opened a Dodge case number. 27788212 if you must know. Been to two different dealers multiple times.

OEM Goodyears lasted 19k miles. (OK, probably related to problem #1)

Overhead A/C controls rattle at speed.

Passenger a/c/heat vent pops out like eyeball out of its socket

Blue smoke on start up, but I can count those instances on one hand.

No windows down with key fob.

This is a huge annoyance to me. Our legal freeway speeds have increased in Utah almost across the board, effective more than a year ago. I like having the Durango warn us when we're 10 mph over the limit to keep us in line on local roads. But now I get the nag alert while on the freeway when I'm only 5 over, and sometimes when I'm doing the actual speed limit (depending on the area and how much the limit increased). So frustrating. I don't want to turn it off because I don't want a ticket in a 40 mph zone (our local sheriff's department is very...proactive about keeping speeds down in town) but leaving it on is a tremendous nuisance while on the freeway. If only the mapping data were reasonably up-to-date. IF ONLY THE MAPPING DATA WERE REASONABLY UP-TO-DATE, DODGE!

No heated middle seat in the 2nd row. Thanks, Dodge, for giving my 3 kids one more thing to fight about. :(
that is funny as sh!t i guess im not the only 1 lucky enough to have 3 whiney kids ! hahaha. not like its a big deal in georgia, and the older 2 usually convince the little guy that the 3rd row is way cool.

Ok regarding the damn maps update - QUIT buying that stuff ! if you guys keep paying (wasting) $ on that stuff, dodge will keep putting it in their vehicles and driving the price higher. repeat after me : FLAT SURFACE FOR SUCTION CUP IPHONE MOUNT ! $2K added on to sticker price not needed !! ** end of public service announcement ** ;)

ps - you should be using Waze anyhow, therefore dodge nav reporting the correct speed limit is unnecessary :)

Steering, steering, steering. I'm coming from a Mazda CX-9 which may have the best steering feel in the segment but the Durango's is really disappointing. I'm only 2 weeks into ownership and will get used to it but still would like to have some feedback through the wheel. Instead, there's nothing. The Durango actually handles fairly well and it may even be better balanced than my CX-9 was but it's less engaging to drive and actually a little tiring. With communicative steering you have one more sense to help you keep the car pointed where you want. This is the case, not only for curvy backroads but even for piloting long straight sections of highway. With the Durango you get no feedback through the wheel at all. You have no idea what the wheels are doing until you see the results with your eyes. It ends up being more work and requires more attention while providing a less rewarding driving experience. (BTW, there's a lot I like about the Durango. I'm going to wait until I get some more miles on it but will post a write-up of my likes/dislikes at that time.)

Did you by chance test drive a 2016 model when you were looking? The 2016's offer 3 different steering modes (Comfort, Normal, Sport). I also believe the guy developing the zAutomotive Tazer is going to be adding the Steering modes to his box. So folks who have a pre-2016 vehicle without factory sport mode, but with electronic assist steering, can enable these different steering modes.

If your Limited has the V6, then you have electronic assist steering.

The 2012 Crew I had was definitely not all electric. It did have electronic assist though. Actually, I sold it to my brother, and the steering fluid is now leaking from the lines that go to the cooler. Luckily he has a Max Care warranty and is getting it fixed.

EDIT: Sorry, I read your comment wrong. I thought you were saying V6's had all electric steering .... But you actually said V6s all had electronic steering. My mistake.

I believe the TaZer will allow any supported vehicle with electronic assist steering to enable the sport and comfort modes, but it looks to still be in development. I noticed a "Steer" setting in the latest beta firmware he sent me to test for him.

I was disappointed that it wasn't an option to NOT have nav on the R/T. I ordered my '13 RAM Sport without because #1 it's 500 bucks and #2 I use either iMaps or Google Maps. I haven't missed it once! That being said, I won't be wasting my money on updates.

It's funny to hear people complain about he lack of steering feel in a 3 row SUV. Sure, it'd be nice to have it, but I seriously doubt I'll miss it. I DO love the all electric system in my RAM. I know when it was new for '13, they had a bump from 390HP to 395 because of it. I'm surprised not to see a similar bump for the 2016 D.

I'm happy with the steering on my '16 R/T. Does it feel like the Miatas/Coopers I've owned in the past? Nope. But feels pretty good for such a large vehicle. Not truck-like at all. I keep my steering set to Sport at all times. Nice and tight. Perhaps on long road trips I'll set it to Comfort. It's great to have the ability to make those adjustments with the touch of a virtual button. I also like the fact there is no power steering fluid, pump, and all the crap that goes along with hydraulic steering.

Here's why I complain about it. It's not because I'm looking to hit an apex in a 3 row CUV. But there is a lack of engagement that makes driving less enjoyable and more tiring. I find that I'm constantly making adjustments based on what I see happening rather than what I feel happening. When there's a decent amount of feedback (believe, me the CX-9 is no sports car but there's great feedback through the wheel) your hands can instinctively react based on feel for the road in a way that makes driving less of a chore. Steering feel gives more confidence and makes driving easier.

I'm curious about the 2016s which adjustable steering. Does the sport mode make a noticeable difference? Is there any downside?

There is a distinct and easily-noticeable difference between the Comfort, Normal, and Sport settings as far as quickness/responsiveness goes. Not sure if any of the three will provide the level of road feel you're looking for.

i guess you could firm up the suspension with stiffer springs and heavier anti roll bars, perhaps drop it even more if you really wanted to.

Im a track guy and used to driving my 92 Corrado SLC with bilstein PSS9 coil overs on a 1.5" drop on track. It handles amazing, I love it. On track. Which is .00000001% of my time now. Drive it down the connector in Atlanta and you might as well be punching yourself in the nuts every minute. You can actually feel the grains in the pavement through the steering wheel and rattling through the cheap interior plastic.

So there is a trade off here, Im guessing the 5,000 # suv is meant to be more isolated and for that Im thankful.

I get what you are saying though, it would be nice to have it both ways, thats pretty hard to accomplish without magnetic suspension/ride control. Maybe the mazda does a better job of it, ive never driven 1. It is quite a bit smaller and lighter than the DD RT.

Quite honestly for me it was the service department in our locality and actually of Dodge's customer support. Was looking at a Viper ACR but just can't get past Dodge's dodgy customer support.
EXACTLY!!!

Having the same issue. I can't believe how bad the service is at the dealer in Washington state I bought my Rallye at. I just bought a new durango...they would not fix a small nick they put in the bumper, rotate the tires or change the oil after it sat on their lot for a while (2 years) . Yesterday took it in for a broken handle, and they said it would not be covered under warranty. I told them it was new and they had to fix it under the warranty, so he had to go check with the sales advisor!!! WHAT....now I am waiting on a call back from the service advisor after he checks with a sales guy. Don't think it works that way??? I thought I could just mention it when I picked up my plates and schedule a repair time.....

I was being so poorly treated when buying the car. When I pointed out to the floor manager that he was being so rude to a new customer and I didn't feel like they cared about my business, he asked if I wanted a tour of the service bay so he could show me a wall of tires to make me happy. Seriously!!! They forget what it should be like to treat all customers with respect.

Anyway, got a good deal on a car, but they have lost all my service business.

I also agree it could use more cubby storage and the weird heat blowing out the vents when the ac turns on and it is cool OUTSIDE is sure weird. Loving it other than that.....

Anyway I have checked with several of my neighbors who have Jeep and Dodge and they all said they had the same bad service there, and gave me names of other dealers to go to. Even my sales guy who was as helpful as he was allowed to be by the floor manager, said they were just too busy in the service department. The Seattle area has too many jeep owners I guess....

some minor annoyances:
- Climate Control always "un-syncs" between the driver and passenger sides
- Switching to Media always defaults to CD (Not Bluetooth which I always use)
- Engine always starts in Eco mode

edit: These could all be solved in a single software update. C'mon Dodge!
How do I change it to recognize BluRay? It never wants to play bluray and I have to by normal DVD's
