Hi everybody!

I noticed this on my way out to Phoenix. Whenever I have the A/C running and suddenly step off the gas pedal, I get a slight humming noise for a couple of seconds. It seems to be clearly coming from the front of the truck. It's fairly audible. Even my wife was able to hear it. Once the A/C is off, the noise can't be reproduced. Only happens with A/C running, regardless of setting. Anybody any ideas?

Best,
Nico

had same problem today also when I had AC on but no time to check it out

Normal

Nico I believe it's Normal due to Outdoor Temps being so High It's the Pressure in the refrigerant getting a bit high on the high side and the Compressor slugging a bit. Both my D and the wife's Intrepid do it once in a while.
You're just like me Listening for all the sounds and squeaks my wife tells me just Drive!

I'm with Steveon this one. I think it's probably normal. automotive AC systems often make moaning sounds as pressures change with engine speed.

My 99 does the same as I take off from a stop, it can do it for a split second or up to 5 seconds depending on how I take off. Do you have rear A/C? I notice that this vibration sound comes from the rear passenger door area, I'd guess from where the A/C lines come in from the under body area. I have just learned to live with it. My thought would be it's a mounting bracket for either of the two lines, hi or low, not mounted tight or a long spance between mounting bracket. What's funny is at certain times I can control the vibration to the tunes on my stereo.(boredum)A slow start with varing different levels of acceleration can get different tones.
