How to make the radio behave

I just got a 2017 Citadel V8. Really like how it drives. But one major annoyance I noticed is the radio. There is no way to turn it off! It can only be muted with what normally would be the power button. Then the next time I turn on the engine, the radio comes right back and starts playing. What's worse is that it doesn't go back to the last radio station or media played. Instead, it randomly picks a media/channel/station, which is often invalid. So it blasts static as soon as I turn on the engine, unless I mute it or change the station. Has anyone experienced this? How do I make it default to the last band/station played?

I have a 2015 with the 8.4a, and I rarely listen to FM, mainly the USB. Only time I do switch to FM is to get a local traffic report, and it almost always is not on the same channel, and most times it's on a dead channel or one I never listen to. As far as the USB, it has always returned where I left it when I turned the engine off, so no issues with that; just the FM jumping around.

Mine is...I noticed on my last visit for an oil change that they applied several updates as I was under warranty and one of the updates was for the amp.
Don't have any jumping around on stations after shut-down/start-up, EQ works correctly though I still think its too much on the heavy bass side.
Yes, can't turn radio off just mute...but I don't usually have it cranked up so no issue with that.

Mine will return to the last settings for either driver 1 or 2. You should have the dealer look at that.

I've never had a problem with mine jumping stations when I get back in the vehicle. However, like I have said before in other posts, the radio memory settings are tied into the seat settings 1&2 and can also be tied into the key fob.
So if you program the radio presets and then proceed to program the seat settings then when you get back in with a certain key FOB or press either seat memory position, those radio presets will be recalled. If you remotely start the car with the FOB, then the memory presets on that FOB will be recalled when you get back in the vehicle.

We do have driver 1 and 2 memory set and each tied to one key fob. It does recall the right presets on the radio. That's not the issue. The issue is when I first turn on the car, the radio doesn't start with any of my presets or the last station played when the car was shut off. Instead, it tunes to a random frequency, which often is not a valid station. So it plays static until I switch stations. I will try again tonight with both key fobs to see if it's just with my key fob.

Ok, I just noticed one other thing. If I left the radio on an XM/Sirius station when the car was last driven, when I start the car the next day, the radio does go back to XM/Sirius. But sometimes it says something like "Initiating" on the screen. Maybe it's trying to acquire the signal. But while it's doing that, it doesn't restore all my XM presets on screen. It may show two or three presets, but the rest of the 12 presets show blank. Most of the time all my other presets eventually come back after a few minutes. But twice they never did. I had to re-seek those stations and preset them again, which was a pain.
