Update?

OK, Good news!! My loan was approved today
Mazel tov!!

Just waiting for the word. :D

You said 'printing' so I assume it's a Gerber Edge type device? You also said 'vinyl' and that could indicate a Graphtec type device. Or you could have a Mutoh and Mimaki type device which could be colored solvent based prints on white vinyl with a conture cut. Edge is in multi colors, vinyl is usually layered solids that are cut, weeded, masked and applied and solvents are car wrap type device printers.

Please advise so we can send you some cash for projects :)

WOW, Indy?slow down!! LOL.
I'll be capable of doing the die-cut vinyl same as our website stickers, and probably will be able to do the club HP stickers as well. The machine is a cutter and plotter. Still gotta find out what software I'm getting with the initial package?I know I'm going to need to buy more later on down the road. I'm also going to find out if I'm going to be able to do the domed lettered decals as well. I know I was already asked about those. If I can, I'll!

UPDATE:

All is good in the land of vinyl!! Ordered the package today, and it'll be delivered on Monday!! How's that for service :?:
So it looks like once I figure everything out this week (like how it all works)? I'll be cutting some vinyl :!: :!: :!:

Come one, come all!! Shoot me your ideas!
I'll keep you all posted.

just a thought about PP: make it a personal acct so that you don't have to pay the fees. IIRC, personal accts are free and biz accts get charged.

As for software, my wife recommends Illustrator CS?she said that's all you'd need for quality graphics and such?

FWIW, Illustrator is good because it's native file format is vector. Usually you'll need to submit files in vector art format for the vinyl cutter to cut the letters. That's probably the biggest issue with cutters. Folks will have great images and ideas, but no usable artwork in vector format.

Dan, not too sure about that. The wife's account is a personal and we still pay fees?maybe the other way around?but I'm not too sure. Either way, I'll have an account set up this week some time.

Rod?Thanks for the heads up on the software, supposedly all that's built into the s/w I'm getting with the cutter? according to my sales guy. I'll keep that in mind once I see how everything works.

Indy, according to all the info I've gotten from the company, this software has the vector imaging built in as well. I was wondering about that myself?how do I take someone's idea and actually put it on vinyl?? Yes, it's in there, but only time will tell! I'll play with it all Monday night once I get it all and set it up.

Thanks all for the great info?think I should be good to go with all this vast knowledge around me!! Like I said, I'll take all the help I can get.

KD, we have multiple devices at the office. If you have a specific question, get stuck on something or need an answer, I'll be glad to try to get you one. Just ask and good luck!
