Love my 17 DD RT. Had it 2 months, 5500 miles. Yesterday, my confidence in it has been shaken. Started it. Put it in Drive, noticed that all the idiot lights were on and flashing, none of the gauges worked, speedo nor turn signals. Messages kept flashing on center screen saying to not turn off ignition, not to shift trans and proceed to dealer. We did. Pulled in there, showed service writer what was going on
. I got the impression that they never saw this before. It's been 2 days, they still do not know. My guess..something needs reflashing or fried circuit board. Any one have this experience? car drove normally, did not go into limp mode. radio and A/C worked fine.

Have they given you any update of what they think it is?
they kept it overnight. told me that when they started it everything was normal, could not find cause or replicate it. they said that they took it out 3X on road test,all was normal. I have a hunch that this problem will rear up again. My feeling is that they did not want to deal with it, so they passed it off.
 
one hopes they pulled and saved all the stored codes..

I have in fact heard of this before, but I don't remember what the issues were..
 
I had this same thing happen with my 2014 only difference is that it would happen when driving down the road. After 3 weeks in the shop, they found a loose wiring connector down in the center console. Did not specify which harness, but it was around the shifter knob. Just did not connect the two connectors together all of the way in the factory. No problems sense.

So, invariably when something like this happens there will be a pile of stored fault codes.
Unfortunately, the techs are not trained in dealing with a pile of fault codes; all they get is "if you see this fault code, do this"
The manufacturers should be building a self-learning system, where on any visit like this the pile of faults gets sucked up, and by analyzing the followup results can build an "expert system" (there's an ancient buzz-phrase) to help the tech diagnose.

This is what we do here when we say "so what are all the fault codes"

The manufacturers have to step up, understand who it is they have working in the service bays, and figure out how to get out of this "uh, I dunno, couldn't reproduce" circlejerk.
