I guess I should place my order on monday.

 

I waited 8 months for my G8 and 5 months for my RAM. The RAM pissed me off because it was made 8 hours from my house. At least the G8 was made half way across the world.

right now looking like 4-8 weeks depending on configuration and how things line up at the plant

 

I just ordered one last week. I was told 6-8 weeks. I spoke with a Chrysler rep who said he asked for an expedited build due to a dealer mishap so we'll see if it's any sooner.

Once you get a VON (vehicle order number) you can call Chrysler customer service and they can update you on how far along your build is.

I ordered a Durango on 3/1.
It went to gate line (e.g. production scheduled) status on 3/3
Assembly and inspection were finished on 3/19.
Vehicle was delivered to the dealer on 3/30.

So yeah, 4-8 weeks is probably a good bet.

Wow, that's seriously fast!! Makes me believe they're not back logged at all so the time from order to built is shorter than say ordering an Explorer or something more common.

Often (from what I've heard over the years), early in the model year they tend to run the assembly line a little slower (extra QC checks or what-not), and things get a bit more "ramped-up" as they go along...so maybe things are speeding up a little now (extra QC checks would still be welcome though :-?)

 

It was over 2 month for me (placed order at the end of November, car go t delivered to the dealer first week of Feb.)

 

We ordered our Durango on 2/11, it was built on 3/7 and it should be here this week. However it looks like the average wait time is 6 weeks.

I highly suggest you sign up for a premium membership on the jeep garage forum. You can give them your VON or VIN number and they will track it for you until it's delivered. My information has been more up to date than what the dealer even had.

 

+1. I've done in now for two vehicles.

Mine is still at the dealer. My schedule hasn't permitted me to get there an complete the deal...and won't be util the day after tomorrow.

 

My Citadel took just about to months to get to NY. held up a week or so due to recall on rear control arm defect

 

I think you need the Level III ($24.98) to get tracking.

 

We Ordered ours on February 23/16 and was told by dealer 8-12 weeks, we get a call on March 21/16 that it just arrived at dealership picked it up few days later all ready to go. So ours took just under 4 weeks from time of order to dealership lot

 

Gotta ask - you're signature shows you have a '16 Limited with the Hemi. We didn't think that was an available configuration with the '16 model year....

 

Just placed my order 2016 R/T, AWD, Silver, black interior, blacktop package, captains chairs (no other options). Can't wait to get out of my GMC Acadia.

 

Sounds similar to mine (color and black top) but I did 40/60 2nd row because we always want that extra seat in our Enclave and don't have it. I got the towing package as well. I didn't get the tech package either. I'm not a huge fan of it and I'm not going to pay for it! [emoji6]

 

yeah, I don't always use my moonroof, but when I do I forget to close it and it rains. :|

I guess I was lucky because I put a custom order in on 02/25 and got my new black 2016 Durango RT w. Blacktop package arriving at my dealer on 03/24. It was built on 03/14.
So just 4 weeks for me....

I have a corporate lease through Enterprise Leasing and they're telling me 4 months. Unfortunately, they come after dealers. I ordered it on 3/22 and it still shows order received.

Ouch, that's a long time to wait. Maybe at least the incentives will be better by then.

 

Yep - I didn't want the sunroof either and for me this was the number 1 reason for a custom order.
The second reason was that I really wanted the storage bin between the 2nd row captain chairs.
I highly recommend this - as long as you won't need the 3rd row seats on a daily base.... It's a great storage bin and accessible from either 2nd or 3rd row and it looks awesome!!

 

Sounds like that order goes through Fleet sales.. that's a whole different can of worms..

My semi-reliable fleet info is showing 8-12 weeks, with the following items on restriction/delay/hold:

• (PT6) Brownstone Light Pearl Coat
• (PTW) Luxury Brown Pearl Coat
• (PAR) Maximum Steel Metallic Clear Coat
• (WF3) 20” Polished aluminum wheels

 

Well I have none of those! Mine is silver with the blacktop package.

 

My understanding of orders going into the assembly plant is that genuine retail customer orders are at the top of the list.. everything else gets bumped.. so I don't know where Enterprise fleet is in the pecking order..

I know of at least two cases where a dealer took a "customer order" but actually ordered something the dealer wanted to put on his lot... and then told the original customer "oh they built the wrong stuff, we'll have to order again.."

 

I called Chrysler and found out it took my dealer a week to finalize my order with the plant.

ordered 4/6....got a vin# today, listed as "D1 status / plant has sequenced unit for production".

 

Looks like our D's are in a drag race down the assembly line. [emoji3]

 

D1 is ready to roll, parts that aren't in-house are committed and heading for the plant.

D1 should have an estimated ship or delivery date

 

Yeah about that.... I was told 4/18 but I don't think that was right. 17 days from order to delivery. It would be nice but I'll be happy if I take delivery by June.

 

Black R/T Black Top with Tec, Sunroof, DVD and Tow. There were a lot of inventory with those packages but the wife and I wanted the 60/40 split 2nd row for when we have our child. So the second row is what set us back and had to order.

Funny because we have that seating now in our Enclave and spec'd ours with the full bench. It stinks when we have both of our boys, the two of us and if one more person wants to go, they have to climb into the back. I like the look of the buckets better but want the 7th seat more.

 

Our Family decided to get a 2016 RT for my wife. So we went to the dealer to order a RT since her only requirement was second row bench and the Tech package, they could not locate one within 300 miles from Kentucky. The dealer said that May 6th was the last date to put in a order for the 2016 models and said if you order the 2017 model in couple of months the cost will be 3% more.

Is the dealer just pushing me to order one now. I will gladly wait for a 2017 model if Dodge is going to make one. If dodge decides to retire the Durango, I dont want to miss out on a RT and be forced to drive our second choice Honda Pilot :doh:.

What are your thoughts/suggestions...

 

That can't be right... They've only been building the 2016's for a few months.

 

Growing impatient, I signed up for the vehicle tracking on the Jeep Garage Forum. We'll see if they have any more info.

Is the information from the Jeep Garage more accurate than contacting costumer service? From other posts it seems you can get a really comprehensive breakdown with a Level IV membership, but I'm wondering if that actual status is more reliable than costumer service would be. Thanks.
