I was doing this same thing (trying) about a month ago. You can't get in to the circuit from the non fan side. Once you get the plastic fan off (4 screws I think) you will now see the outside magnet cup, which comes off after you release the retainer ring on the center shaft. It's a real strong magnetic attraction but you won't need a puller. Once you get inside you'll be at the armature, which covers the circuit board. There are screws that hold it to the plate but I could not get the armature off. So I never got in to the circuit board. I finally gave up and bought a new fan from RockAuto. It was about $325 with the freight in (ups). I installed the new fan but same result....it will not turn on. There is voltage to all three contacts in the fan connector....12volts plus to the red, good ground on the black and 3.2 volts to the small pin fed by the violet/brown wire. This is where I stopped. I'm now searching for answers. The fan has two relays in the TIPM but they appear to be good. I'm now going to buy two new ones and see if that will be the fix. I'm writing this because I think it might save you the time to try to get to the circuit board inside the fan housing (your first picture). I don't think you can fix anything (or components inside)....after what I've been through I think the problem is with the 'signal' from the TIPM/relays that is the problem. It's probably a finicky computer signal that turns the fan on and I think thats the main issue. I have a Citadel 5.7 AWD 2014 with 155K miles. There has been TIPM problems with it and I've had lights and windows problems for 18 months before. The electrical system in these vehicles is hugely suspect.

ABanx I am having same issue with my 2013 citadel 5.7 with 90k. I have tried using about 3 used cooling fans and none would turn on. I also have 12v going to fan connector. I just ordered a new oem tipm from dealer and hopefully that will fix the problem.

Thanks for the post! I hope that does it for you. This is crazy sad that these Durangos are so unstable in so many ways. I've already replaced my tipm when I was having trouble with my drivers side window. I've recently replaced my cam because I had the 'lifter' issue. In fact the radiator fan problem came up after I put it all back together. The fan just decided it wasn't going to come back on. I just remembered that I was always puzzled by the fact that whenever I would park on any type of incline, the radiator fan would come on. A certain portion of my driveway has a slight grade, maybe 5 to 10%. Whenever I would park there with it running, the fan would come on, whether it was hot or not. Has that ever happened to you? I might even start another thread on that. Best of luck to you.

I had a remanufactured tipm from dealer get installed this weekend. After it got programmed to my durango my aftermarket fan kicked on. It worked for one day only and then check engine light came on for P0480 again. We are going to get an oem fan next and see if that will do the trick. My car has been at the shop since I purchased it at auction and haven't been be able to drive it yet.
