I've been meaning to get around to this for awhile and finally got the Valentine V1 and BlackVUE dashcam installed using BlendMount brackets and MirrorTaps in my DDHC. It gets really tight back there and right up until it all went back together I wasn't sure if it would all fit.

Here in FL it gets really hot and humid so suction cups and adhesive to the windshield does not last very long; you end up returning to your car to find your accessories dangling by their power cords so I have Blendmount in all of my vehicles.

The MirrorTap leads make the install very clean and far less work than trying to tap into the cigarette lighter, but it can be challenging getting the taps to set without breaking off. For this install behind the covering I bolted the ground tap for the BlackVUE dashcam to the ground wire that was already back there; trying to insert another tap into that flimsy wiring harness looked like it was destined to fail.

With the mirror tap does it allow the blackvue to be powered on in parking mode?
No, the power leads to the mirror are ACC leads so they only turn on when the car is running or in ACC mode. I have never used parking mode with my BlackVUE, I think it needs constant power for that or a battery pack, you would need to run the leads to the fuse box or find another constant power source.

And actually, this link says the same thing that I just said: Blackvue Dashcam Parking Mode - BlackVue Dash Cameras

I’d love to get a link to the correct blend mount if you don’t mind? I had the same setup on my old track hawk but not recently so I can’t remember the whole setup. Thanks!
